    200 scratches fixed

I love the look of the top deck color on my 200 OB. However, the rope is creating scratches on the back as it slides across it. Decided to fix it by using some 3M clearmask. It's a little tricky to apply and if I was going to do it again, I'd either practice more, or take it to a professional.

    Before:

After sanding and buffing (sorry for the bad picture, it is so shiny, it is hard to get a good shot):

    After the 3M Aeroguard applied:

Good Idea!!! Have you seen any wear in your rope catching on the hinges of the side storage when circling to pick up your skier?

None. The faux teak is just about level with the hinges. It slides right over. I was a little skeptical about the faux teak at first, but I really like it now. The ski does not slide around on the platform anymore.

I put the 3M aeroguard on as soon as I pick up the boat. Gunnels and especially the rear transom, skis can leave some nasty marks.

Dave, did you float yours on and then squeegee from the center out? It can be a bugger if you get a large bubble.

How much was the 3m aeroguard?I am considering puting some on the stern just above the swim platform to stop the scuffs from boards as people are booting up.

Honestly, I did a pretty crappy job doing it. I started in a corner and squeegeed out. No big bubble, but a few small ones. They are starting to go away, but really only doing it for protection.

Knock on wood, I have not seen any dings on the transom. The faux teak stops the skis from sliding.

            18" x 5' was around $50 shipped.

              CD,
This is just more proof showing how anal promo boat guys are about the care of their boats. Keep up the good work.

Interesting.... Almost all the bubbles disappeared. I guess it settled with the hot temps. Looks just about perfect now!

****, I got ripped. My promo guy didn't go to these extremes. What a slacker. I need to order some of this stuff to put between the back seat and the locker doors.

Get the buffer out once a year.
I put some serious elbow grease into that thing.
We have some road rash on the club boat from the trip north. Maybe a roll of that stuff would be a good bet for transpo.
