NEW 2005, SV-211 TEAM ON ORDER!

The wife and I placed an order on a 05 SV-211 TEAM yesterday. We got it with all the usual goodies including a heater and a shower. The color scheme we ordered is a vapor blue hull with a black onyx stripe. Our current boat is white hull with vapor blue stripe. The interior will be colored with a vapor blue stripe just like our current boat. They said we should have the new boat by the spring boat show.

We were trying to decide on spending the money to add the tanks, shower, and heater to our limited but the people at WLM made it so easy to just trade up we decided to go that way.

Oh yea, I got the Teak platform instead of the composite one. Just looks better to me.

I frankly don;t understand CC for making a crossover boat without tanks standard. Almost by definition, a wakeboard boat has to have tanks.

Fatboy, so that I can better understand, what was your reasoning for buying the Limited without tanks? Did the dealer promote the shift gate as an alternative to the tanks?

Well we had been out of the ski, kneeboard, wakeboard scene for some time and really didn't see ourselfs as pro's who would need tanks. (By the way I don't need them now but my son does.) The last boat I had was a MC Prostar 190. I was also smitten by the boat I got after seeing it at the boat show. My dealer told me at the time that she could order me one with tanks and more options but I had to have that boat. In retrospect I should have waited and ordered one with all the goodies but I didn't. The boat has a very nice wake without the tanks but after I added 1000 lbs of lead to it and my son saw what it could be there was no turning back. We would be happy with just the lead if not for the fact that my wife likes to ski and the lead makes for a mean ski wake.

I really know now the meaning of the phrase: It's better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it. At any rate I'm happy, I'm getting another new Nautique.

Thank you Fatboy. I've made my share a bad buying decisions and never got what I wanted. At least, you now have the right boat. And besides, there has to be a lot pleasure in seeing a boat at a show and saying, "I'll take it!"

But getting back to my point...I see the advantage of offering a barebones Signature but the Limited makes no sense to me at all.

I am not sure I get what people mean by needing more wake. Pros can do a lot of things without it, so I am just not sure I need it. We put a fat sack in our SN and it improves the wake moderately...but not so much that I notice. Wake seems to be the antidote for technique many times, which is what I'm getting at I guess. I can't do anything else because the wake is bigger, and it's not really a limit to my progression. Can someone explain that to me? Is it really just about having a giant wake?

Pros don't have to have a huge wake, that's why they are pros.

The bigger the wake, the more time in the air. The more time in the air, the more time to throw tricks. It's not rocket science.

surfsup, have you added anymore weight to yours besides the ballast? If so, how much and how do you like it? I have 1000 lbs of lead and could have that and the Ballast on the new boat.

Congrats! I too am waiting for my 05 SV211 Team as well (January/Early February). Did you save the lead weight from your Prostar and/or are you going to use it in the new 211?

I actually just melted some old tire weights down a couple of months ago. I would have never added any weight to my old Prostar, those were my sking days, I wanted no wake back then. I had the lead in my 211 limited and will prob use it in my new team as well.
