    SV211 vs 210

I am looking for a new boat and had a question regarding the 211. I am coming from an 01 Air with stock ballast and a 500lb bag on the back seat. My question is, we are not hard core boarders but would like a good wake. Would an 06 211 with ballasts and a wakeplate have a better wake than my old set up? and is it at all comparable to an older 210 maybe an 03-04. I like the 210's because it is basically what I had just a v-drive in terms of layout, size and big lake capabilities. We do alot of family stuff on a lake that can get rough and at times I wish I had a better hull than my Air. We pretty much only board, but we do tube and kneeboard but I know that can be done behind any boat. I have 3 boys who are growing and with the next boat being one that we will have for years, I am hesitant with the 210, because I fear it wont have enough room, but cant afford a 220 on up. Long story short would a 211 be good for early morning boarding and some family fun. My biggest concern is the ability to load it up with the push of a button, dont want any bags laying around. What is a stock 211's ballast weight.
    Thanks peoples!

Well I have a 2006 SAN 210 TE and i love it. have the ballast empty and you have a real nice wake for beginners, fill the tanks and put another sack up the front and you have one of the best if not thee best wake out there. as for space inside the boat i find it spot on for what i need. I also looked at 211's before i got the 210. They are such a nice looking boat i just love the lines of it. It is a crossover boat witch makes it the perfect do it all family boat. for anyone who is not just into boarding a crossover is the way to go it will do everything that you want and more. My friend has a 226 and when we fill the ballast in that boat the wake is big.

I've got a 2000 Air and a friend has a 05 211. With his stock ballast, it's much bigger than the wake on mine. I think the 211 wake is steeper and the boat is less prone to side-to-side weight issues. I'm always directing people to move over one way or another while boarding.

I also like to slalom and I'd rather have my boat for that. Hope this helps.

As far as your comment about rough waters --- I went from a '97 Sport to an '03 SANTE 210. The '97 Sport has essentially the same hull as your '01 Air. I totally know what you mean about rough waters. The Sport would pound and was not a pleasant ride for the fam in chop. The 210 is a completely different ride, I was pleasantly surprised when I first drove one in choppy waters...not at all what I expected. I don't know a lot about the 211's but I'm a huge fan of the 210. The layout is awesome and plenty of room for all our gear (2 kids + 3 nephews!)....

just test drove today with stock ballast and a 500 pound sack on the floor. wake is similar in shape to a 210, but is on the smaller side. should be more than enough boat for the majority of riders. the more weight you add, the bigger it will get. I have ridden behind the new 210 both stock and with an extra 1000 pounds in it, there is a noticeable difference in wake size and straight up pop.

also I think this could be remedied by adding more weight to the rear to give it more vertical kick.
