Car Canopy / Car Port for Boat

My boat is now parked out in the sun all day. Has a really nice waterline cover, vents.... - but it is dark gray in the North Carolina sun gets really hot. Does anyone use a car canopy to protect their boat ? Seems like they are anywhere from $150 to $500..... Any recommendations ? Trying to be reasonable on the cost.

I keep mine in the garage so I can't help you with experience.

At the end of the day, you're just trying to protect it from the sun as much as possible. Then, depending on where you're storing it, you probably want it to look nice. Costco had some canopies awhile back that weren't bad looking. I'd try there or just get online or visit your local Tuff Shed type of stores. I'm sure they carry that kind of stuff.

Another issue you may run in to is height and depending on whether or not you want to fold your tower down.

Check out Shelter Logic. They have one that is about 10' x 20'. You will need to replace the canopy every 3-4 years, but they work well and are not expensive.

I used one for mine before. I did have to fold down the tower to get it under it. I like it and it worked great. There is a big difference one hot sunny day i had the boat opened an was working in it was amazed at how much cooler it was under the canopy out of the sun. The major issue with mine was we had a bad thunder storm one night with high winds. I thought it was anchored down enough, but it wasn't. THe wind caught it flipped it up and bent all the poles and put a small scratch on the side of my boat. Never replaced it after that. I think I got mine at a K-mart for like 150.00. Worked very well until the wind storm.

Other issue is I haven't seen them much longer than 20', while I'd need one 23+ for the boat. But overall, it should be much better than a cover.

I used one all last summer. I got a 12X26 Sheltor Logic from Tractor Supply. It worked great for my 210. I extended the legs about 18 inches so I did not have to lay the tower down and I simply had to pull the boat under it.
