I just took delivery of a 2010 SANTE 210 (its so new I haven't even had a chance to post any pics yet). I was pulling up to our lake place today which is 3 hours from where I live and my dealer calls to tell me that all he just received a recall notice from Nautique that certain models needed the rudder replaced and my new boat is affected. Apparently the rudders can crack and there is a potential for complete loss of steering. Apparently Nautique first sent out a notice to inspect the rudders for cracks but then followed it up with a recall.
This boat is brand new and I've only driven it for an hour or two on the boat test when I picked it up from the dealer last week. We put it through some hard turns and everything seemed fine. I also don't see any cracks or other obvious issues with the rudder. Anyway, has anyone else heard about this? Since I'm 3 hours from the dealer, getting this fixed is a real pain. This is my first inboard boat and I want to get it in the water. The season is short enough up here in Canada.
