    ZR6 on gas?

Just curious how much gas you guys are using on your ZR6 equipped boats. Given the whole fiasco in the Gulf, I imagine that prices are going to keep rising...

This is going to sound blunt and harsh, but if you cannot afford the gas, what are you doing with a boat?

Gas in FL has been steadily rising for the last week or so. I know it usually goes up in the summer but not that much. I figure its because of the spill in the gulf.

Geez who said I can't afford gas? Using that logic, why is Ferrari debuting a hybrid in 2013?

I use less fuel in my ZR6 than I did in my 03 excalibur, and about what my 96 gt40 used.

ZR6 definitely is a guzzler. But, the difference between 330 & ZR6 is small relative to all the other factors that determine fuel consumption much more; i.e. people weight, ballast weight, placement of all that weight, prop, vdrive or direct, hull design, etcetera, etcetera, etcetera... Hard to compare apples to apples since almost everyone's setup is different, but here is one reference: when I'm out for a full day with the whole shebang (5+ friends and/or ~1500 lbs ballast) in a 216, we could go through 20-35 gallons--definitely a "chip in or get off" day.
