Would it be a good idea to lube the impellers with some sort of engine assembly lube before starting up new pumps? Maybe i'm overthinking this and they will be fine.

If you really want to lube the inpellers before starting them, I would swuggest using nothing more than just dish soap. It will be enough to get it lubed before the water reaches it. Otherwise, I really wouldnt worry about it.
