    Spring project number one finished!!

    This is a project i started last fall and got it finished up this last week. It was my first time ever doing anything like this so i'd like to thank everyone on this forum for helping me with sharing your projects and answering my PM's! DanielC you were a TON of help, bchesley, core-rider, snowboardcorey you also gave me valued insite,THANK YOU all!!!

        mhaaland - looks great ! On you main gel coat areas - what "cutting" level did you have to go in order to bring these back ? Did you have to start with sand paper ? Compound ?

          I started with the wetsanding first. 240, 320, 400, 600, 800, 1000 grit on the areas where the decals use to be and spent more time using the 800 and 1000 to try to cut down on the buffing. On the areas w/o the decals i went 400, 600, 800, 1000.
          The black and white gelcoat didn't take much to get everything good. Now the gray was a different story, i spent the most time on the gray trying to get rid of the ghosting and i'm not sure why it was that way.
          For the buffing i used the Meguiars Boat/RV Fiberglass Restoration kit, the Oxidation remover was #49. I was very happy with the Meguiars kit and would recommend it to anyone!
