07 220 Interior/vinly falling apart anyone else have trouble?????

My 220 interior seems to be falling apart fast. This is our first Nautique we got new. The two nautiques we owned before were used hard and held up great. The first summer the rear facing/back seat started ripping. This spring I noticed that the rear seat that you step on getting in the boat by the trash can was ripped because the two halfs of the seat were one piece so when a person steps down the weight pulls on the vinyl. Should have been made in two pieces so this would not happen. Anyone else have this problem and did Nautique do anything to fix it? check pics to better understand.

Did you try getting warranty service? Not sure if they would qualify that as a defect vs. accidental damage but would be worth a try.

If you have a good dealer near you they will get his covered under warranty.

I have a '08 210 and every one of my seats have done this, even the brand new ones they replaced the begining of last year and they have warrantied them every time.
It's like the wrapping is so tight that they tear from normal wear.

I've had the observer seat on mine replaced under warranty...the latest one has a design that is much different where the back meets the bottom and looks like it'll hold up better.

Check with your dealer re: warranty.

              Dubaudi,

How did you get an e-mail back from Nautique? Did you e-mail them your photos?

This may seem obvious but dont use degreasing cleaners like 409 on your seats, use 3M or 303 vinyl cleaners or other reputable brands. And, always use a vinyl conditioner after cleaning. In the pictures your seats look kind of dry like they dont have conditioner on them.

Btw, on my 07 220 i had the starboard rear facing seat behind the trash can tear as well, and the dealer got me a new one under warantee.

You will be happy when you recieve the new rear corner seat. They started making it two seperate cushions, that are not connected where the seat back meets the bottom cushion. Gotta love when someone actually solves a problem.
