What Style Boat Lift Do You Use?

Is there a recommended lift for Nautiques in general or does it just depend on year and model?

We used lift hooks on our old 2001. A lot of people use craddles around the lake, some use straps. I worry about the prop, rudder, etc banging on a cradle when putting it up on rough days. The hooks are tough on rough days too.

I currently use a hook on the front and a strap for the transom. I was looking to redo the lift soon.

Just curious what everyone uses...obvious next question is how you constructed your lift and how you came about your parts.

We use a custom cradle for ours and it works great.

      my lift

A few years back I bought a Hydro Hoist and it works great. Our water lake is not controlled so our water
rises and lowers with the weather. This system attached to my floating dock and works great.
Makes it easy to clean under the boat as well. Recently I say a lift that sits on a platform (dock) and goes up and
down with the boat on it so once it is up you have dock under the boat to lay on and clean the boat that would be
      very cool.

        Boat Lift

We have a fixed boat house as part of our dock, so I have been looking at parts to modify rather than a stand alone lift. I looked at the stand alones, but it makes more sense (and cost less cents) to modify our lift.

Our lake is fairly big and gets a lot of weekend traffic, so waves are a real concern. I had forgotten how difficult it can be docking a boat in rough water. That is why the cradle scares me a little bit.

          Doozie Lift

We have a doozie lift - works great. Simple design, installed myself, easy to repair..... a 3/4 or 1hp electric motor lifts a 3000 lb - 4000 lb boat.

Ours uses a custom cradle, there is a cut-out in the back of the cradle to allow for the prop and shaft to have ample clearance, you can vaguely see that in the picture. The previous owner had a lift with an underpowered motor and straps for the lift. We pulled all the parts together we needed from Boat Hoist USA - they were extremely helpful

They have pretty much all the parts you will need to make any modifications you want.

That looks just like our set up.

most people i know have regular outboard style lifts, but with big carpeted blocks to account for the shaft, etc. one buddy has this crazy dock, out of FL i think, where the whole thing lowers into the water. when it's up it's like the boat is sitting on a trailer. it's very cool, especially for cleaning, but kinda sketchy launching unless you have a wide/deep cut out for the prop/shaft.
