It's a bit cheaper than a promo I know about with similar options will cost. This boat has more hours, but still a good deal when compared to promos out there.

I cannot comment on promo boat prices, but I would encourage you to get some prices from the promo guys before making any assumptions. That boat is a very base boat. A promo rep can order them like that, fully loaded and anywhere in between.

That 200 is priced a little high for being as basic as it is, but I suppose it's a starting point. I'd talk to a promo member if looking for a 2010 200.

          Promo the way to go

Always buy used from a Promo guy. Every one of them that I know is anal on care. No shoes, sun tan stuff, dogs and always wash, waxed and well maintained. Bugs are always worked out and boats are dialed in perfect. Better then buying new IMO.

Good luck! They are all sold out and will be starting production on 2011's soon. Best bet is to call a bunch of dealers to see if someone has one. Otherwise, you might have to wait a couple months for a promo.

A know of a few dealerships that have new 200's in stock, but I'm not aware of any with the CAT motor. That may be a tough find? Your local, or closest, dealership should be able to do a quick search to see if there's one out there.

From a thread over on BOS

Hi guys, after reading many stories about the new 200 wanted to give my personal opinion.
Have skied behind it last week and must say the wake is truly very good, especially my wife who is only beginning in the course liked it very much because of the very smooth and soft wake it produces, especially at low speeds I would say. We have a 09 196 ourselves and honestly the wake is even better than ours.
And that is where it ends for me atleast....
no 200 has a nice and big love seat to, stitching inside also quite nice, but then again stitching and fabrics of 09-196 almost comparable...

But, and know comes the bad,

engine noise is painfull, it really is after hearing that it spins more rpm was kind of reluctant to the stories thinking well how much of a difference can 300-400 rpm be anyway. But its a big difference this was with the excal and really was dissapointed at 55 felt like we where doing 64 or somehting, engine is almost maxed out at 58 that is for sure...
Now because engine is working really quite hard am also sure of 2 things
                      reliability will go down....
                      fuel consumption will go up...
and that is what kills it for me... beatifull looking boat but would never buy it, would probably opt for a malibu lxi with monsoon engine now, because not only should the skiing be fun, but think the boat driving should be fun and have a sporty feel to it as well. Our 196 feel like a small rocket in comparison+ no more barefooting behind a 200 or you will kill it off in no time, with 196, and especially malibu which feels even faster, should be no problem, not even hurting it.

also from a design perspective, a hardcore three event boat shouldn't be that big, who cares if you can stick 6 skis on the sides, i mean honestly how often are ppl really using this. No they actually should have gone the other way, make a even smaller boat then the 196 that would have the performance of the 196 with the small 5.0 liter engine and really make it fuell efficiant, then it would have been a top seller amongst clubs and hardcore skiers. Oh did i mention the trick wake of these boats are not that good, to much air in them makes for very difficult ride...

Anyway don't want to dis correct craft to much because absolutely love the 196 i have, knowing that it is flawed for tricks, and really liked the wake of my previous 1997 196 with gt-40 as well.

But if i where to buy now i would go for malibu, good slalom wake, good trick wake, and optional wedge where you can make it beginners wakeboard boat to, fast, reliability over the past seems to be solved, some things still look a bit flimsy, but less so than in the past as well...

anyway, don't want to start a fight thread, just giving my 2 cents...

Mark, I now have 120 hours on my 200. It gets almost the identical gas mileage as my 196's. I don't know how, but it does.

I have not seen the actual dimensions side by side, but I bet the 200 is not really that much bigger. It is just layed out better. But even if it is bigger - what difference does it make if the wakes are smaller, drives better and gets the same fuel economy? I don't know for sure, but I'll bet if they made it much smaller than a 196, the wake would be larger (boat would sit deeper) and it would be more difficult to drive (wouldn't take much to pull it side to side).

I can't speak to reliability, but it is only turning 4000 RPMs for 16-17 seconds. My corvette with a similar motor redline's around 6800.

Yes, it is louder than the 196, but way quieter than an LXi. I've had several people lately that have commented on how quiet it is. I'm guessing they have heard horror stories on the high RPMs.

In my opinion, a true die hard 3 event skier's primary focus is the wake and how well the driver can keep it straight. The 200 does those things better than any other boat that has ever been produced.

                            Just because I was curious.

                            200 is:
                            6.75" longer than a 196
                            4.75" wider
                            same draft (22")
                            160lbs heavier
                            same fuel capacity (29 gal)

At only 160lbs heavier, does it spin higher rpms due to more hull in the water? I sat in my first CB 200 last week and it was definitely sweet. I liked it much more than the OB from a looks perspective. I'm looking forward to driving the 2011 200 at the CCF reunion next weekend. It'll be interesting to see the tweaks they've made.
