    Prop for Ski Nautique 200

    I'm running the Acme 1868 (12.5 x 14.25), but I've heard others with different dimensions (654?).

Mine isn't even listed on Acme's site.

    http://www.acmemarine.com/prop-list_ski-boat.php

What do you have on yours?

    What is the difference?

I've heard there is a "new" prop that manages the RPM's better, but I can't get any concrete information.

To the best of my knowledge.....

The 14.25 is the latest (and only) AWSA approved prop. They had one that turned lower RPMs, but no one liked the pull. I know they guys at Chet's tried them back to back and everyone like the higher RPM's of the 14.25.

In addition to diameter and pitch you should also be tracking the cup number. The cup has a significant impact on top end rpm.

That's interesting...I wonder why they would let one out that's not approved?

I can't imagine a tournament director checking to see if the boat has the right prop at your average C tournament.

Looks like I get to correct myself! On USAWS's website, there is a list of approved boats. It lists 3 props for the 200, but not sure which prop goes with which motor.

After talking to Bill Weeks at Acme, we put the 422(12.5x15.5 .105 cup) on our 2011 this week. FAR better than the 1868 it came with. It lowered rpm by over 500 and made the wake even softer. Everyone loves the pull.

Remember that the prop must also be on the approved list for tournament use.

                    Ski 200 props

Thats for last years testing, As this years test has not occured yet. Dont know if CC will come back and re-test a different prop configuration for 2011 but their are many of us that are utilizing other than AWSA approved wheels for other than tournament skiing on the ski 200. One popular prop is the 654 on a 5.7 at lower elevations (tho it is a tested configuration)..
I run a 422 for day to day skiing on my 10 ski 200 6 liter, and also play with a 13X15.5 OJ .130 cup. have also run a 13X14 OJ 4 blade for jump testing purposes and found it to be a scorcher but runs pretty high rpms.

Makes sense, higher pitch, less RPM's. Curious, how does the 422 affect acceleration?

The difference in acceleration is negligible. No one, from the 150lb skier to the 220lb skier, has felt the holeshot is lacking. And compared to a 08-11 RLXI, it's still a rocket out of the hole.

Screw the awsa. We can put any prop we want on it for our own use.

Top speed with the 1868 was 41. With the 422, starting from half the distance I got it up to 43 the other day. I can do a full power run down the lake this week sometime. Easily 2mph better and I was running out of lake so I had to shut it down.
