I agree with you whole-heartedly. My point is that after hearing how bad business has been for sales, etc, that there is not a fully loaded boat somewhere at some dealer. I believe that you should not have to pay more for something that should be covered under warranty, and that your "pain and suffering" of missing a season should also be taken into account. Since I doubt I will ever buy a brand new boat, my opinions may not mean too much to CC, however it seems that your experience has affected others decisions on this forum. For this reason alone, i would imagine that a corporation would bite the bullet and pony up the new boat at cost (even if it is an 11)

Doing a quick search of new 2010 200OB Teams, there seem to be a few out there. Couldn't CC pay for a tower to be added, or whatever other option you had? I understand if you want the identical color combo. That could be a tough search. I'm sure you thought of this already.

I don't have a tower on my boat. What I ment was I have almost all the other options except a tower.
The colour I selected is the same as there demo model and the pics on the Nautique web site.
The bottom colour, strip metalic and top colour metalic are all options that I paid for.
I really like the look of my boat. I have had many compliments on it. Pictures won't do it justice but once in the sun
        it is really cool looking.

Watercraft sales has the identical boat in stock, although they used it for some demo-ing, hence it won't have zero hours on it.

Sounds like our club boat last year... the #3 OB 200 mfg last year. Ours had the 6L engine.

              very VERY nice boat!

Just turned 50Hours last weekend. Won't be using the boat this weekend and there are maybe 2 weekends left of skiing if the temps go back up. So far they are in the low 60's right now.

I want to ask the other two boat manufactures that I know well how they would handle a warranty situation like the one I have. Would they lean tword what almost everyone on this post has agreed should be done or would they have a different view on the matter, simular to what has been offered to me?
I wonder how oftan they read there competitors forums?

Actman, impossible to say what another manufacturer would do, I suspect they would do the right thing, in terms of the customer, but at the end of the day the question is irrelevant.

No matter how I try and see both sides of this I keep thinking CC dropped the ball on this from day 1. A defect free boat was purchased and a broken boat was delivered. Actman was a nice guy, and needed a boat, so he allowed Correct Craft to resolve the issue which to date they have been unable to do. He is now sitting on a boat that he cannot even sell. That is no way for a manufacturer to treat a customer.

This thread would not exist if CC had addressed this with the appropriate resources to remedy the problem. If resolved within a couple of weeks everybody would have been happy and no damage would have been done to either party. I am shocked that they didn't.

It really is not a "hypothetical question" My question to them may be...."If I were to purchase a new boat from you, and on the day of delivery the engine/transmission had problems that could never be resloved thoughout the whole boating season. The customer has been very understanding and helpful trying to work with your dealer to resolve this problem. This customer has bought many new boats from your dealers over the years and is very loyal to your brand.
In the end what would you do for the customer? "
I'm sure it would not be a straight out answer and would still take a manufacture some time to think it out. To us the customer its a no brainer.
As time goes by and this is still not put to rest do they not realize the number of people and customers that have contacted me and offered there full support.
In my own business (IBM computer servers) I would never let something like this get this far and out of hand with my customer. I would make sure that my customer continues to buy my product and speaks volumes of goodness about it. The thought of upseting one customer and having a wave effect over all my other customers and potential customers would never sit well with me!

Sometimes the president needs to stand up and get the job done! Speak directly with the customer OR maybe its more important to show celebrities how to build boats. (I'm sure they must buy lots of Nautiques)

I think that it has to be considered a hypothetical until it happens to that particular manufacturer. I know that it is easier to say the right thing than do the right thing (ask my litany of ex-girlfriends)

More time has passed and now the dealer will be away for two weeks. I did post some thoughts on the
other forum and don't want to repeat back and forth. It should be finished up by then and I will hope to
post more about the outcome at that time.

One thing I have learned on here is... ...not only do we all just pull skiers/wakeboarders but we all pull for each other!! I think if you understand what I'm trying to say in simple terms thanks for all the support!

One last thought. A long time back at a pro tour stop, me and my father were very privileged to have lunch with Ralph Meloon Sr the President of Correct Craft at the time. This memory to this day is embeded in my head. The warmth and friendship that Ralph offered to me and my father was somthing that is very hard to find today from any head of any company. I remember I was proud to be an owner of a Nautique and to realize how proud he was to offer such a great product that he believed in and stood behind. I felt he had carried on the work effort and good customer relations that his father had started many years ago. Did it help me buy more Nautiques, in many ways the answer is YES!! I think alot of times these days the presidents and higher up people loose that much needed connection with there customers. There customers become numbers.
It's very sad and I feel this needs to change. I'm sure everyone can agree on that!
