    Issue has been resolved today

Today my boat was towed away and a new 2011 was on order. I should receive it mid May.
We came to an agreement that works out fine for both partys. For a very small amount of money in
return I will have a new boat. It was very nice to have the support and help from other owners on this
site. I try to help others on here as well and I will continue in the future.

I just would further like to say that Nautique is very lucky to have Ron Nace as there customer service manager. He has pride in his job and showed great customer relationship tword me when dealing with my issues. I am yet to meet him but from our many phone conversations I felt he is a very honest upfront gentleman.
I hope to fly down this spring, meet Ron and watch my boat come off the line.

Thoughts on the dealer selling the buyback boat... Now that a settlement between actman and the factory has been reached I will share my thoughts on this particular case.

All of these boats are hand built. The motors are adapted automotive motors with special marine transmissions, a drive shaft, a prop, and a rudder. It is an extremely simple drivetrain system. Based on everything I have read here it seems like this is obviously a mechanical issue, likely confined to something in the components between the crankshaft mounting face and the prop. There seems to be nothing wrong with the hull assuming the shaft log is installed in the correct location. The hull is the only thing that is truly impossible to repair to new condition in these boats as far as I am concerned. There can be challenges with interior replacement panels but drivetrain repairs are easy to bring to new factory condition if the dealer has the skills, motivation, and adequate time to do the repairs. Once the noise is fixed the boat should be easy to sell as any promo boat would be sold. I would not hesitate to give it some consideration if it were a good buy. That said, I would be sure to spend a day or so putting the boat through it's paces making darn sure it's as solid and quiet as any new boat.

Actman, I am happy to see that you have reached an agreement that is acceptable on your end.

Is your "old" 2010 200 actually for sale at the dealer already? Any links? I'm assuming it has not been fixed if they could not fix it all summer, then they have the boat for a couple days and it is fixed all of a sudden? Seems fishy to me if it is for sale already.

SuperRon saves the day again. I'm glad you've come to an agreeable solution and weren't turned off the brand as others might have been.

As for selling your old boat, I agree. If they couldn't fix it all summer, I doubt it's been fixed now. But I also agree it should be a relatively easy fix for someone that knows what they're doing.

dealer claims there isn't anything wrong with boat and I believe they're asking $48k and $4k for trailer. They are the only dealer in Ontario.

no dealer i know would put a boat up for sale that issues.

What are talking about here is the sound differences between a 2003 196 and a 2010 200 imo. i bet this 200 runs fine for the next 20 years without a hitch.

There was something wrong with the boat, confirmed by the dealer, mechanic, CC and even a post in this thread from a PCM employee and supported by their decision to install a new transmission and trying various props.

Glad it worked out for you Actman, be sure to post some pics when the new boat arrives.

No that is not true. You have to carefully read the threads to extract truth. The boat functioned as it should and continues to do so. A new transmission was installed and the one that came out was tested to be normal. The dealer etc. worked with the owner to resolve a specific noise complaint. PCM never confirmed any issues and the fact that the boat is up for sale immediately, confirms the dealer and CC believe the boat to be in fine working order.

Not all boats are alike, and many will not sound the same for various reasons - this is true.

                        another Thanks

Looks like my new boat will be ready sometime in April. I just wanted to mention that I received
excellent service from Don Bostic of CC as well. It will be nice to go down in the spring and meet him
as well as others who have been helpful in keeping me as a customer. This boat will have a
change in colour from Fury Red to Victory Red. Maybe there is something to be said about the names
of the colours related to all that I have been through!!! lol
I will post some pics this spring as I watch the boat roll off the line.

This story reminds me of some problems I had after buying a version 1.0 product design. I bought a 2004 Ford F150 FX4 (all new design in 2004). I've had several little problems since I've bought it new.... nothing too major thank goodness. But I vow never to buy another 1.0 product release ever again. Let the manufacturer figure out the quirks... I know this philosophy can be difficult to apply when you're buying a boat...easier when buying a car/truck.

I'm sure there are issues with the new SN200... that Correct Craft will quietly try to fix.

My dream would be to own a new SN200 closed bow... I love the new design.. my only concern would be the top end speed of the new boat.

What is the official top end speed? (engine 5.7l, three people and gear)..any one have any numbers?

How much extra room does the 6l take up? I like the the top end speed you're getting
