My 93' has an interesting warble when in-gear and idling upto 1500 rpm

I got my gal out for the 1st day of te season and thanks to the knowledge on the board she started on the first turn of the key.

I did hear a warble in the drivetrain and I wanted too see if anyone else has ever heard something similar. It starts at just above idle when in-gear and then continues upto 1500rpm. It is probable a 10-hertz shimmy/warble. Nothing is grinding or squeeling and there is no discerable vibration. It's likely just the prop in the water eh?

    Any thoughts?

My friends 92' sport had a similar sound when weighted down.

Is the prop tight? Just a simple thing to check...

Probably a good idea to check your prop shaft alignment too, 17 year old boat may well need it.

Mattie - Good idea. I can do that!

Slayer - I am not a pro but I love to work on things. Is this the alignment process that you do with the feeler gauge at the coupling while rotating the shaft at the prop or would I need to drop the shaft and spin it on a lathe with a gauge (which I don't have access to)??

I think there are a few threads on these so I might be willing to try.
