I have some similar questions - Mainly to do with operation & functions. I guess the start point is to download the manual.

I recently purchased a 2003 all black SAN that was advertised on this site (among others) a while back.

I think my first upgrade will be the prop as the current prop is pretty banged up. What are some good prop upgrades.? I probably won't be running the kinds of additional ballast mentioned above, but I probably will set it up to surf.

Also I don't think I have wedge tanks.? They are pretty much a box shape and around 10" deep with a small "wedge" shape behind the rear seat. There is heaps of storage above them.

Tricks for best wake for boarding, surfing.

Best upgrades for the stock ballast.

Any upgrade or changes I need to make.

      Best stereo upgrades.

Best detailing products for interior and exterior.

The boat only has 380 hours. I only have one picture as it needs two days of detailing.

I took the boat out for only an hour before I bought it, so I am a newby.

This is how I weight my 03:

Stock wedge tanks- 250 LBS each side for the rear & 350 LBS for center (Stock total= 850 lbs)

        Bow- 11 Pop Brand lead bags x 40 LBS= 440 LBS
Lateral weight- 6 Pop Brand lead bags x 40 LBS= 240 LBS (I move these as needed. they are normally needed on the rear driver's side to balance the wake out)
Piggy back Fly-High wedge sacks in the rear lockers- 370 LBS each= 740 LBS

        (Added Total= 1420)

I always leave the lead in the bow and actually like the wake without the piggy-back sacks filled, but what I listed makes the perfect wake with 3. It may be too much with more people.

        As far as upgrades:

        1. Swap the ballast valves with the recall replacements, electric valves or just replace the fill pumps with three ballast puppy pumps.

        2. Swap the stereo head unit to something like the Clarion CMD6

        3. I swapped out the dash warning plates with plain carbon fiber (not necessary for most, but they really annoyed me)

        4. I added insulation to the passenger cooler and picked up a cooler bag. I feel it works much better (holds ice all day in 100+ temps with no problem) and I can easily pull it out of the boat to load & empty. The Seattle sports 19Q bag fits nicely.

        5. I would like to add the seat behing the driver like Jeff did on his 03, but have not got around to it yet. (maybe next winter)

just fyi-the fly high bow sac weighs around 900lbs or more. we use that along with 200lbs of lead in the bow, the wedge sacs in the rear, and just a couple people. it will not sink. it will be the most amazing wake ever. is it totally needed? no, but is it the way to go for a pro level wake? yes. i prefer the integrated sac sitting on top of the seats w/ a bow filler b/c someone can sit there and relax nicely if you have more than a couple folks with you. enjoy the boat. keep up with required stuff like fluids and impeller, etc. check your trailer lugs/hubs frequently. make sure you have proper life jackets/throwable and all that jazz to keep it legal. enjoy.

They guy i bout the boat from has kept this boat in tip top shape its so clean and perfect it could be a brand new boat, he did upgrade the stereo with the clarion and did have the custom seat installed behind the driver’s seat. it looks identical to the one directly opposite, come to find out he had 2 10" kickers facing down in there too. Sounds great.
He did replace the ballast valves with a valve that was recommended buy a few on this site, but they seem to be leaking slightly. soo, i guess that will be my upgrade. Any suggestions?
ill get pics up soon, if i know how.
