    Glove box Strut

    have a 2004 SANTE and want to order a new glove box strut as mine no longer is funtiong properly. so my question is aboput the one offered by whitelakes marina. is this the correct one for my boat.???

    I just got one for my 2001 SAN and it worked perfectly. I'm sure that it is the correct one for your boat too. If it was a different one, whitelake would probably have it for sale also and labeled as such.

        I'm always a proponent of buying from Whitelake, but you can also get these struts at Napa or similar auto parts store, if you need it immediately.

            I gotta agree with teamseal. They don't seem to last long. Replaced mine in my 196 at the start of 08 season and it wouldn't hold up the lid by the end of last season. I am going to look into finding one the same length but with more resistance to see if I get better results.

              be somewhat gentle with them. try not to slam them shut and they will last longer.

                I put a 40 lb shock on mine and it works extremely well. I had heard of problems with the hinges from going heavier, but am on 3 years with no issues so far.
                1998 Ski Nautique (Red/Silver Cloud), GT-40, Perfect Pass Stargazer 8.0z (Zbox), Acme #422, Tunable Rudder.

                  I replaced mine on my 2005 SAN by going to Auto Zone (I believe) and matching it up. I too, went up one step in the resistance, and works great.
                  It was real inexpensive too. I seem to remember paying 10-15 bucks.
