SN 200 Best boat for Slalom!

This weekend I had a really good chance to ski behind my new 200 along with my skiing buddies.
I have had many Nautiques over the years and my last one being a 2003 196. This 200 is by far
the best ski boat made. I have skied through the years behind all the other brands in tournaments and
at clubs and there is no doubt that this is by far the best. My friend has a bad ankle due to a bad
fall skiing last year and he was amazed how smooth across the waves it felt and painfree to his ankle.
For me the deeper the line the better it became and usually with some wind there is spray but not on
this boat. My course should be ready this weekend after some repairs to really test out what I can do.
I will let you know how that goes and how it tracks in the course.
Have to give a big hand to Mapple and the rest of the team at CC for making it well worth the money in
investing in a new boat!!! If your on the fence about doing it....jump off it now!!

Unfortunately, this is a very subjective subject. I'm a die hard nautique person, but I'm not crazy about skiing behind the 200 at all. I'd much prefer the MC197 or Malibu right now. Sacrilege, I know! I think it has to do with not knowing where to stand in the wash. There is a little lip there where the wash rolls over. You don't feel it as you come across with the ski on angle. But when I roll outbound for the pullout, my ski bounces a bit and it just throws me off. And if I start outside the wash, I feel like I'm too far out. I go out and just ski behind the MC197 and the Malibu and I have to freaking think behind the 200.

This past Weekend at the Superstars tournament I heard some of the same stories. Funny thing though these skiers that were commenting about not feeling the wake also seemed to have personal bests and changed their story after three tournament sets behind the boat.
I demo-ed my boat to two guys on a lake near my shop yeserday. One of the guy's had never run 22 behind his MC , last night he ran 4 a 28 off. The other fella is a promenant doctor here in PC, he is not a course skier but rather a open water free skier and skis at 22/28 off 34 and 36 mph. He also has a 08 206, I do believe the 206 will soon be replaced with a Ski Nautique 200!!!

Not sure if ya'll read my other thread, but I sold my promo this weekend to a couple that skied it in one round of my tournament. She was sold after one set. They are selling their '06 MC197.

The first tournament I did this year we allowed everyone to choose the boat they wanted. Round 1, we put an LXi in first. About half the skiers chose it. The other half then skied behind my 200. Round 2 and 3 everyone except the LXi owner chose my 200. He even chose it in the 3rd round and got a PB (2 @ 39).

Shane, not disputing you. You are certainly entitled to your opinion, and I believe you. However, I have pulled about 70 different skiers and every one of them prefers the 200. Some more than others, but none preferred the 197 or LXi over the 200. Speaking of slalom only.

Maybe my opinion will change, but right now if I had to pick one to ski behind every day it wouldn't be a 200. Interestingly enough, there were more than a few people who skied behind the 200 for the first time this weekend at the tournament I was at and they were split 50/50 on whether they liked it. Lot of people complaining about the 28 off bump. My pb's are behind a 196 and 2010 MC197 and regularly get within 2 buoys of my tournament pb in practice. I'm a pass down behind the 200, even in practice.

I wonder if there is something wrong with the one you tried. I skied mine for 2 months, then skied an '08 196. I almost went out the front at the gates on my opening pass (-28) from the bump. Even the owner of that boat agrees that the bump is bigger on the 196 at 28.

One of the things I found very early was that you can not Bring your Zero Off slalom settings that you were using on a 196 over to the 200. I went from A-1 on a 6 liter 196 to B-3 on a 6 liter Ski 200. Most all the 34 MPH skiers I encounter with this boat I recomend B-3 and 36 MPH skiers B-2 or C-2.
Not having a bit of problem with the 28 off nor any other line length wake wise. Only problem I have not being able to ski enough with the boat!!!!

Skied behind 3 200s here. All feel the same to me. Both of our 196s have a 22 off bump and then start to clean up. The 200s are noticeably flatter at 22 and then 32 in comparison. I'm not discounting the flat wake for the most part. Something just doesn't feel right to me. And a few other people.

I'm already at C3 behind my 196 5.7. When I went to B3 behind the 200, I felt like I was always falling away. Will keep plugging away because they're not going away. LOL

Ha, no doubt! I'm looking foward to see what's been tweaked for 2011. A year from now we'll be raving about the 200 while everyone's telling us were nuts for not buying a 200V! :-) I've always been one step behind!

wakes

I have skied the 200 for about 10 sets now and love it. Its just a bunch of bubbles for a wake. I think most peoples issues are sight lines with the wider wake. It can cause problems in pull out and edge change due to the width.
I have put up my best scores behind the 200 this year but I ski just as good behind our 196 at home.
I wish the ZO was in front of the driver and not down to the side.
I have only skied behind one 2010 RLXI and I know it is the same hull as 09 but this boat was a beast. Rock hard wakes at -28/32 and it sucked to drive. I love the look of the TT197. It is a pretty boat.
ZO settings play with your brain. Put it on B1(or any setting) and leave it there, dont mess around. Your skiing will get better the more you stay with a setting. I do not feel a differance in any of the boats and use B1 behind them all. The key is to ski light and do not let ZO work you over. Keep a constant tension on the line.

Mikey's jonesing pretty hard now after all the props about new personal best's, CP setting a new world record, blah blah blah. Jeff are you listening?! Mikey's coming down to Orlando to borrow a 200 for a week or two. I'll gas it up and polish it better than new. Consider yourself warned.
