Ok, I have taken after Grant's idea (I hope he doesn't mind) and had a light bar fabricated for my 230. It is in the shape of a V, because I only have 2 lights. (if this shape is too sharp, I will have another made - but I think I will be ok) Where should I mount the Shadow casters on each side, for optimum light projection? close to centerline? more in the middle?

With that sharp of a V, I think that closer to the point of the V would be better so there isn't a gap (unless you want a gap). Best thing to do would be to make a mock up like Grant did out of wood and test the different positions for the lights. Looks good so far.2001 Super Air Nautique (For Sale)

We actually did Grant's mockup for angle in my pool. We just moved the boards around until the light shined evenly on the other side of the pool. It was pretty easy to do and only took about an hour. I think the ultimate angle we ended up with was about 140 degrees between light sections. Judging by your pictures I would guess you will have a dark spot directly behind the boat.
