Looking at a 1997 sport nautique and waiting for engine serial numbers, but what engine type is this. APEX? = Chevy? Looks to be fuel injected, but not GT-40.

I believe that is the Pro-Ski 350 Chevy TBI Fuel Injection 275 HP. Don't know much about the engine other than if I were to buy a boat w/it I would make sure to get a good price since it doesn't have the GT-40.2001 Pro Air Nautique
GT-40, Stargazer, 1200 lbs auto-ballast

Definitely a GM motor.
I'm assuming that's the same fuel system as a TBI motor on the GM pickups prior to going to the real EFI of a "vortec" Gm v8.
I would hardly call TBI a true EFI like it says on the PCM cover.
The GT40 is definitely a better motor, and not because it has 40 some hp more. I would not pay as much for that boat due to the fact it doesn't have the Gt40 motor.
Yes, the Gt40 was a ford 351windsor with gt40 heads and intake with multi port EFI. The TBI is a throttle body injected motor. Basically it is a carburetor with a couple fuel injectors in it. It works, but I would rather have a regular carb than TBI from my experience with the 350 TBI in the 94 pickup we have at my parents house.

You all are fast. I found this confirming.
http://www.correctcraftfan.com/forum...195&PID=190978
PLL model - TBI 350 5.7L
Purchase price is $9k, w skylon pole and bimini. Another $1,500 for shipping, taxes, registration etc. So about $11k to get on the water.
Boat has 800 hours.
The engine, I've read about the injectors going bad and being a limited part in earlier years 93-95? The TBI is made by Rochester, will I be replacing this in a few years if I buy the boat?

I'm sure the injectors are the same that is in any GM 350 tbi motor. Some parts need to be marine rated, and others don't. the injectors on gt40 ford motors are the same as on ford passenger cars.
I've not had an issue with the injectors on the 94 GM 350 truck we have, but it sure does not have much power. It didn't when new either. My 4.0 inline 6 at 190 hp in my jeep has a lot more grunt than that PU we have does.
