I have a 2007 236. I lock just about everything on it but when I got to our river house, the prop was gone. Anyone out there have a recommendation for prop locks that have worked well for them? Sorry if there is another post about this, I searched and could not find one.

i've never heard of one before. that's a huge bummer. i would say to lap your prop on so it's good and snug, but they obviously had a puller. who else on your lake has a nautique? i'd start looking there.especially ones with kids who may have damaged theirs and not wanted their folks to know

it's not common with inboard props but obviously it happens. Some of the big powerboat guys pull the props from their outdrives whenever they travel. Of course those props are worth over a grand each and there is some competitive secrecy involved when it comes to offshore racing but they pull them off also to prevent theft.
There's not that much you can do about it. While the high voltage connection is a novel idea you might find yourself accused of a crime if it was ever needed. A regular old steering wheel club between a blade and the strut might work if you think they may return. If they are getting away with a prop there are lots of other things they could unbolt and steal. A proximity alarm might be more effective. Contact David from Earmark in the stereo section, I know that he has done some in boats to protect the stereo gear from theft.

I would check other nautiques on the lake for your prop, but it's likely the thief simply took the prop for scrap.
A trail cam is a great idea, and a clamp lock couldn't hurt either. If you go with a trail cam, make sure it's hidden , or that will be stolen too.

DIM has a special nut that will make it a bit more difficult to steal the prop.

That’s a shame. Supposedly when the previous owner had my Nautique the FAE was stolen off it. It might be worth recording your new prop’s serial number if it has one stamped in it. I will 2nd the trail camera technique. And maybe also some motion activated lights on you slip?Current: 2001 Air Nautique GT-40
