I tried taking the center cushion out this weekend, but the bride and I both thought that the boat seemed a lot louder when I did. So I put it back in.

I do have a very small amount of tearing (and I mean small) on that center cushion seam, but JWAT hooked me up with a new skin for that seat when I bought the boat. I will put the new one in for next season if it gets worse.

    On the snack issue...

I would prefer no snacks, but 2 of my 3 most common companions are 3 and 6. We are all newbies this summer and theses little girls love the boat and the lake. I will let them keep eating snacks if it keeps them happy and passionate about the boat.

I couldn't let a day go by without the "snacks on board" thread getting a post.

just had the thought of a "SNACKS ON BOARD" song to the tune of "PANTS ON THE GROUND"

anybody want to write a verse? For those that don't know, it's from last season's American Idol early rounds...

I would agree... if the boats we were talking about were I/O's that are only good for tooling around in, in which case one might need beer to deal with the boredom. These, however, are world class tow boats that provide plenty of entertainment options without alcohol. I have had beer on my boat before, but I personally have not had one in about 2 years and have not really missed it... of course I'm not a big beer fan to begin with. Fortunately for the beer fans out there, most beers do not stain, so beer is not really a big deal as far as that goes. It is a big deal if the driver consumes several and subsequently drives like an a-hole.

One last thought (for now)... it is a minor annoyance that I am still finding beer bottle caps in my boat from the prior owner(s)... I've owned the boat now for 3 years. It seems like every month or two a new one works its way loose and slides to the back of the bilge near the stern plug.

Beer and high HP ski boats just do not mix well.

I'll allow snacks, but have a bottle of 303 and a micro fiber towel at the ready. I've had bigger problems with red shorts bleeding into the vinyl lately. I'm not sure what's up with that? Fortunately it comes out with 303 and a scrub brush.

it's amazing what you can find behind the port side cooler. tools, lighters, caps, money, etc. in my opinion if you aren't a pro or training to be one why take it so seriously? if you aren't a drinker then no big deal. to each their own. but if you simply don't drink on ur boat to keep it clean and/or you are too focused on riding/skiing then there is a serious problem. FUN is the key word. well safety, thenf un.

If you have control over this, try soaking the shorts in some white vinegar before you wash them. It should set the color and stop the bleeding.

                      Food??? Snacks????

Nothing but water on the boat (from a bottle, lake water gets a 10 second drip dry on platform before entry)

Snacks and food - no thanks, get on the platform!!!

May not be something that cannot be undone - but why need to undo? I have a boat for skiing/boarding and have never had a complaint (only the very young get milk, but thats OK cause the teets look good!!)

                        Yowza!

I always let snacks on board, but then again I have three young girls so it's part of the gig... Part of being a daddy, I suppose. I've been in boats where they don't allow snacks and it's like having one of those rooms in your house that nobody goes in. They have perfect boats in the showroom at the factory. If I want to see one, then I'll go there. Just my opinion! I bought it to use it, and it's a pain to clean it, but I got a nice shop vac and hit it when we get done, but my boat is also older (1989) so I might change my tune when I get a new one.

Saturday we decide to pack food for the whole day and usually I don't care. Well someone wrote what type of sandwich was in each bag with permanent marker. Then later in the day a bag was sitting upside down on my rear seat. So the rest of the day I had Ham and cheddar written backwards on my seat from the permanent marker. Then someone got cheese on my carpet. I was pissed. After that everyone had to eat on the swim platform. I got home and a magic eraser wouldn't take the permanent marker off. My wife got it off with goo gone, but that stuff is pretty harsh on the seats.

That exact same thing happened to me years ago. My wife set her plastic wrapped sandwich on the motor cover (while) while she ate. She about had a heart attack when she saw the stain because she knew I would be upset. Well, I was upset at the stain, but not her...it wasn't her fault. Anyway, I was only able to fade it but it went way after a few seasons. I had forgotten all about it.

Yeah, I know. I typically don't use magic erasers on the vinyl. Sometimes, I'll use one on the hull.
