Nope, not talking about harmonic balancer pullers which are totally non related to prop pulling. FWIW a couple manufacturers call them harmonic pullers. OJ and Acme both make the harmonic style.

When you load the puller with the prop retainer nut almost to the end of the threds and not falling off, reach under the boat with a heavy ball peen hammer and strike the back side of the puller on thick part of the puller that is facing towards the bow of the boat, it is designed to take a blow.[ATTACH=CONFIG]8850[/ATTACH]

Im not sure if Im doing something wrong but I have removed my prop from my 2001 SAN several times and have never had to use any tools other than pliers for the cotter pin. Once i removed the cotter pin the nut spun off by twisting with my fingers, then the prop came off by hand with just a few easy tugs. Is my prop not on properly? I was told by a dealer a puller is not necessary. Any comments or concerns are appreciated.
