    Cooler replacement 230/236

    Hey guys,

After searching on here, I found a few posts, but nothing solid relating to replacing the $19 cooler that Nautique provides our boat... As best as I can tell my dimensions for the under seat cooler space is:

    26.5 " W
    17" D
    14" H

On one of the earlier post from a few years back I saw someone try to stuff a 50qt yeti with no luck.

I wanted to see if anyone tried to stuff the 45 qt version. It looks to be about 1.5" too high. It may not be a problem, any thoughts? If so, this would be money. I am here is Texas and the cheez di&8 cooler Nautique provides is crap...

I am open to ideas. This is going in a 2007 236 Team

    Thanks,

I had never heard of a Yeti cooler. Wow are they pricey. They do look impressive however.

I have a 2009 230 and the Yeti Roadie 25QT fits perfect. I have two Yeti's and love them. They are expensive, but well worth the cost.

        MCM,

Thanks for your response. I was kind of hoping I could get a larger cooler in that compartment. I typically go out with a family full and the 25qt will not cut for a day on Travis. I am pretty sure I can move the brackets that hold the factory cooler in place on the floor. I am just worried about the height of the cooler in conjuction with the seat height.

Any other brand cooler brand recomendations???

          Here is what I use:

          http://www.aocoolers.com/index.cfm?category=22

I believe it is the 48 can version near the bottom. I am not sure on the size because I jacked it from a Tige, and to this day, I still believe that it is the best thing Tige ever put their name on...but at any rate, it can hold a 2 cases of bee...um, i mean man sodas, a couple of gatordades, rock stars and some waters. I stowe extra ice in the long groove under the port side sundeck pad...usually it will hold two 10 pounders.

I place the cooler in front of the reversible bench seat just next to the drivers seat and it stays completely out of the way of people going from bow to stern and keeps those man sodas within appropriate reach.

I pulled the removable grate from under starboard bench. This is where all back packs and lake bags go...keeps people from having to open 15 different seat cushions to find their unnecessary junk that they insist on bringing on my boat....

Its soft (no stubbed toes), durable (4 years old), keeps ice better than any other $50 cooler I have owned, and gets smaller as you hydrate....

I use these exact coolers as well. Good thing about them is they only take up as much room as the stuff you put in them. They've held ice for an entire weekend as well if there's not a whole lot of in and out.

I have had several of the high dollar coolers such as the Yeti and Engel in my fishing boats and they are worth every penny!
