I was having a conversation with fellow engineers and came upon an interesting topic. If you could tell Correct Craft changes or additions that you would like to be made to their products, what would they be?

RE: Changes/Additions to your boat
Eliminate the clamshell on the 210, Figure out how to market a 196 without a trunk and produce it and sell it, start using heaters with 3 or more outlets, figure out how to use a similar latch system to the 2002-2003 trunks without the headaches of keeping them adjusted, after market accessories to jazz up and customize the boats, Correct Craft trailers, a quality factory cover, the stereo antenna mounted on the tower or on the pylon depending on the boat, different stereo packages for the different trim levels (one head unit for the limited and a better one for the team package), replace the current mirror for the open bow models.
There are a few ideas. What does everyone else have?

RE: Changes/Additions to your boat
I'd just like to see CC keep their reputation of being the highest quality boat by re-doing the tower mounted anchor light so it looks like it is not an aftermarket option. Personally, I love what MC did with theirs. Also, if CC decides not to make their own trailers and covers, I would at least like them to make it so somehow the trailer and cover of the customers' choice is under waranty. That goes the same for what happens to the FCT, i. e. powdercoated, painted, polished, etc...
It may not be any structual (sp?) differences to the boats that much, but making it real clear that CC is the best when it comes to customer satisfaction and quality.I Nautique, therefore I am.

Oh yeah, docking lights on the direct drives please!!!
Please note the emphasis on that by the bold font. :wink:I Nautique, therefore I am.

RE: Changes/Additions to your boat
I may be wrong but I have seen the current Clarion radio with a module that you add to get satellite radio. I have also seen them without this module. Both systems cost the same yet CC does not provide the satellite radio module on their boats. I don't have satellite radio but think that besides having to buy an antenna, you also have to buy the satellite radio module, which is connected to the existing radio. If the price is the same, why not provide this module and maybe even the antenna? How about an option for a transom remote control? Then, as Skinautique mentioned, provide different stereo packages.
I don't know if there are many slalom skiers that add counter-weight to their boats. By this I mean adding weight to the observers side to compensate for the drivers weight (if there is only one person in the boat). Mastercraft has what they call an MTS (Mastercraft Training System), which is a balast on the observers side that provides up to 180 lbs of weight to compensate for the drivers weight. Regardless of the way you achieve the counterbalance, this keeps the boat level which should provide you with an even wake on both sides. I have lead bricks that I use as counterbalance but would love to see CC provide a similar accessory as Mastercraft.
For boats with a tower, a navigational light similar to what MC has, which is incorportated to their pylon. I'd love to see a transom light that could be turned on and still be able to ski behind the Ski 196 or 206 (even though it was mentioned that some states require the transom light to be at the highest point on a boat).
It would be nice to have a clock somewhere. For those that have a radio, the remote provides you with a clock but the radio has to be on at all times. A clock on the current gauges, either the tach or the speedo would be nice, just make it constant. Once the engine is turned off, the tach always goes back to hours, even if one had engine temperature or other setting selected. The speedo though stays where one selected it.
Lockable trunk, glovebox and observers seat.
Docking lights on the direct drives would also be neat to have.

Cool Topic!!
OK, I have a few for the 210, since that is the only one I have had experience with.
1. Tower designed similar to the old Boss Belmont Tower. That thing was perfect for the 210, plus it had the ability to fold down into the back of the boat making it very easy to store.
2. Agree with the Clamshell seat, get rid of it and put in something similar as the 211.
3. Engineer the sub and box into the drivers side.
4. Add a warm box above the engine.
5. Re-introduce the electronic locks to the rear hatchs.
6. Add front ballast (Playpen openbow only). Remove the side cooler and side storage area.
7. Add a Front nose cooler.
8. Add the Helm Ballast controls similar to the 211.
9. Engineer something similar to the 'Gate' that would change the shape of the 210's wake.
10. Engineer the Batteries to be sunken more into the bottom of the boat, then open that space for dry storage, (clothes, shoes) or add a optional cooler to use that space as one big cooler.
11. Sink the Rear Ballast tanks lower into the Bottom of the boat.
12. Add optional sack Ballast in the factory that are wedged shaped. (they will sit on top of the hardtanks)
13. Reintroduce the large glove box 2003.
14 Add Blue and Red colored Gauges (like VW's)
15. Add a standard fiberglass windshield.
more later

Twintip,
The trunk locks on every model right now and so do the gloveboxes. Jefe, the 210 has helm ballast controls already.

Skinautique, you mean it locks with a key? I know the trunk locks but just in such a way that it won't open because of the wind, for example. Is there a key that one can use on the locker and glove box for no one to have access to it? Hmm, if there is I've never noticed it.

changes / for a 210 san
1. built in ballast tanks under the floor, integrated into the hull, rear tanks, bow tanks connected to the center tank etc. No pumps, gate valves, and maybe empty pumps to manipulate one side or the other.
2. have the storage / front passenger seat like the 211. I like the lift up rear cusion to access the bow storage, and the storage under the seats to put a full wakeboard, knee board, whatever.
3. add the full arena seating like the old 95-2000 year sans. It doesnt make sense not to have the extra seating.
4. figure out a way to make a better board rack, so you dont have to balance yourself on the gunnel.
5. Full color decks and hulls. via 2003, get better gel coat to do it.
6. Team tower, limited tower, Signature tower. Make the towers different for each series, yet noticeable to be a correct craft flight control tower.
7. Options, Options, Options. Billet, carbon fiber, color matched, stereos, upgraded stereo equipement, amps, subs, etc. DVD's all correct craft approved.

RE: changes / for a 210 san
All,
On the flight control tower, change the socket joint at the bolt point. Currently the top sits into the socket in the bottom frame of the tower. As a result water running down the tower (such as when it rains) runs along the ball and into the socket and inside the bottom frame tubes. Assume it comes out, but the engineer in me says swap them. This is a simple fix. Look at the towers and you will see what I am talking about.
