Does anyone have any pictures of the wakesurfing wake behind the 230. I can never find any pictures of it. We are looking into one if the wake is a lot bigger than the 210. A picture of the starboard side would be appreciated. Could you also please tell me how much wieght you are surfing with and where the water line is at, thanks.

Not much documentation out there on the 230 surf wake besides little comments here and there, which don't help much. We are also going to be upgrading from our 08 210 for a better surf wake and I was going to post this EXACT question. Anyone?
EDIT: My local Nautique dealer is supposed to be hooking me up with a ride with a somewhat local 230 owner who has his boat setup for surfing. If/when it happens I will post a full report with photos. Until then for us buying a 230 is a huge $$$$ gamble.Last edited by ctimrun; 07-25-2010, 01:22 AM.

haha we have the same exact year and model on our boats and we are both looking to upgrade. I would really like to hear what happens with the 230 because its eaither that or the centurions. We only have three kind of boats in our area mastercraft, nautique, and centurion, nautiques and moombas are sold at the same place but i do not count the moombas. I think we also have a tige dealership because i have seen some but i have no clue where it is.

I have a 230... No pictures unfortunally, I was surfing last week and really thought about it to post some pictures.
So, in words...
The surf wake on a 230 is really the BEST I ever experienced. I surfed behind a 210 (old), 210 (new), 220 (good surf wake both sides), 230, ski Nautique, Barefoot Nautique, MC X1, X2, Xstar, Moomba XLV. Never tried a Centurion and Epic.
The transistion is long, with no extra weigth (quick setup in 70% of our surftime), starboard ballast, belly ballast and some persons (sometimes only 1 in the boat besides the driver) and the wake is already good. With more ballast the better it gets. We surf with a LF 4'2".
Again, in 70% we wakeboard and surf with standard ballast. No need for extra ballast with this boat!!230 with ZR6 running on propane

I sold my 2003 210, for a 2008 230. I love this boat and the wake is crazy big. This photo is from last year with only stock ballast full and trim tab all the way down. This season i added the nautique wedge sacks in the back hatches. Im goofy footed so I ride the starboard side. I put the wake plate all the way back, belly tank 100% full port tank 75% full, starboard tank 100% full and the starboard wedge aftermarket sac 100% full, and everyone in the boat in the back starboard side. the speed is set at 11 mph. I have found this is the best set up after playing around for months trying to dial in the wake. My knees nolonger allow me to wakeboard so all I do is wake surf. I will try to get some recent pics next time I go out,( hopefully today), again if the photo uploads it is just stock weight, which is all you need anyway. but more weight is always morre fun.

The photo I posted is just the stock ballast. I will post a pic of the wake with aftermarket ballast next time I go out.

You may think that is a large wake but compared to what is out there that would be considered small. You also are using much less weight than most people do. For a boat that size 1000 pounds in the back locker would be minimum and if you look at the Enzo that are used for competitions you are talking up to 3500 pound and maybe a little more. It is amazing how much some of the boats need to be good. I saw some of the pictures of the 220 set up for surfing. It had a nice wake. I am sure you could get a nice wake out of that boat and if you are happy with the wake with the stock ballast then that is great but the more you get into it the more you want. I do not think the 230 would limit you. I have a 211. I pulled out the hard tanks and added bags. Now the bags keep getting bigger. I now have a 1100 pound bag in the starboard side and 750 in the port side. We surf with weight on the surf side only.
Starboard side
1100 pound bag with 800-900 pounds.
belly full I think 300
bag in bow on surf side 300 pounds
Port
750 pound bag with 500-600 pounds
400 bag on top of walkway
belly full
roll bag in bow over 300
Not a bad wake on either side but not as large as many boats out there.

The wake is small in that picture and i wanted to see the wake with just internal because you can look at the weight limit and add that much more in ballast, or even more. We do not hold back on our 210 we put an enzo sac in there plus the center sac and 540 in the front. That wake for just the nautique internal ballast is huge. IR am going to try to get behind a 230 and see if the wake comes close to an enzo 230. We need to switch sides and the enzo can only surf on one side, that's why they make the right surf system. Your boat is weighted prety good for wakesrufin there.
Does anyone know if on the starboard sire the cooler seat connects to the back lockers so you can put an enzo sac through there??
