Really, the surf wake behind the 230 is the best I ever rode before. Stock is allready good and surfable with every board I have, but with some extra people the wake is getting huge.

I never rode a Centurion wake, but compared to a lot of other boats, this wake is powerful!

      230 surf wake

      Hi folks,

I am new to the site and considering a 230 or 236 as our next boat but there is very little info out there on the surf wake.

Can anyone post a pic of one of these hull with an additional 2000+ ballast on the port side. I want to compare the shape to our existing boat.

If at all possible, please show the spine of the wave.

      Thanks all!

        230 WakeSurfing

Would really like to see someone out there load the 230 right so we can see the surf wave. There has to be someone?
If any one wants to see the 210 TE 2010 loaded let me know and I'll send picts and GoPro Video.
I may trade in next year for the 230. My dealer is sold out and I cant put the order in without seeing a little something!

I would love to see those pics. I'm trying to decide between a 210 and 230. Can anyone who has ridden both (properly weighted) give a good comparison of the surf wave? Pictures greatly appreciated.

Go to Youtube and do a search on "230 surfing". There are several videos that show the surf wake on the 230.

                video

a video of 230 wake can be seen at

http://vimeo.com/13953114 (the clip of nightsurfing shows the large "sweet spot" pretty well)

http://vimeo.com/14079145 (best view at about 1:34)

The last video has some footage (near the end) of weighting with 1000 ballast port side and 3 teens in the bow.

Great video. One piece of friendly advice - get a surfing tow rope and use it when surfing. Using a wake board rope/handle while surfing is an accident waiting to happen.

We have a surf tow rope. Almost all of the kids prefer the handle though - I think our surf rope is too thick for their hands to grab it circumferentially. It was the first experience surfing for most of those people - the 230's wake is easy to catch. We tell them not to wrap the line around their hands, but to wait to be pulled into the wake if they can't get enough slack to get there themselves. Still learning, so thanks for the help!

                      Thanks,

Been doing alot of searching on you tube but most of it is stock ballast and big cruiser boards.

I was just hopeing that someone on PN was very serious about thier surfing and could post wave pictures with at least 2K in additional ballast and speeds around 12 mph. Its time for a new boat for us and we have gone from 90% wake surf and 10% wakeboard to about 50/50.

I know the 230 produces an excellent wakeboard wake, far superior to my Centurion, but I really want to understand the surf wake before I leave Centurion.

So it anyone out there has a 230, 2500lbs in bags, a shred stix comp 1 board... please post!!!

I have a 2008 SANTE 230, 3900 lbs of ballast, and a 2010 Hazen Elevation S.Stixx board. I'll take some pictures of the wave with the boat sac'd out next time i go out and surf. unfortunately, because of work, i won't be going again until the weekend Sept. 18th and 19th.

if you still need pics then, i'll post some.

That would be greatly appreciated!!!!. The simple fact that it generates enough push to ride an elevation is already encouraging!! I look forward to the pictures!

                          Thanks again!

Not sacked out, but this pic shows what just stock ballast and only three people on board looks like. We cheated a little. The driver wasn't really driving at this point. The lake was all to ourselves, so we set the wheel straight and she drove almost a straight line without touching the wheel. This allowed my buddy who was driving to hang on the side.

Wish we could keep this boat. I am actually considering it to me better than my '03 210. But it's gotta sell.

well....it is FINALLY the weekend of Sept. 18/19th. man, it seems like it has been an eternity since that post back at the end of August. work has been a HUGE commitment since then, but tax season will be over on Thursday night and i'm hitting Canyon Lake this weekend.

I'm planning on sacking out the 230 for some wakesurfing so i'll try to get some good pics for yall.

                                Gig'em!
