After using our SAN for about 15 hrs we started having problems with the zero off cutting out and/or surging forward. Reading through the forums here, I saw the cavitation issue and chalked it up to that. However, at 20 hrs the zero off quit completely, even the screen wouldn't work. We brought it in for the 25 hr service and the system was completely replaced (great dealer who spent some time on this!)
A recent river trip added another 30 hrs onto the boat - we spent a lot of time wake surfing with the stock ballast and 3-4 extra people, also did plenty of wakeboarding and one episode of barefooting. At 50 hrs the boat started a funny surging on acceleration, but would smooth out without trouble at around 10 mph. A few hrs later it suddenly wouldn't go into reverse or idle. Checked the transmission fluid - dry. Oil was also down about a quart. Dealer has a new transmission on order and mentioned possibly problems with the v-drive.
Two major problems within two months? Lemon or is this normal? We have just switched over to CC from Cobalt where the boats seemed more dependable. Love the wake on the new boat, but still, summer is slipping away.
