    Power Reduction Mode...

Hola, Ladies and gents i could use a hand... I have a 08' 230 SANTE and i have recently replaced the altenator... no big deal? Well the very next trip i was out on the water and as the day sky married with the evening sky i headed in. On my journey in i ran the boat at about 4800 rpm for maybe 5 min... but steady. Outa nowhere i got a warning light and alarm and a message that read "power reduction seed dealer" i immediatley shut down the motor and checked my strainer... didnt seem to be swirling as it shoulda... so i cleaned it out and it seemed better, temo immedietley went down twenty degrees. Now the issue is now everytime i go from neutral to f/r over say 1500 rpm the light comes on... no alarm but i have to put the throttle all the way forward or all the way back for any action... checked oil, level and cleanliness is ok. Any clues?

    Pressure Sensor

Not sure about the power reduction mode - but if you are getting the light now you could have a bad Oil pressure sensor

      3 main reasons for light

The 3 main reasons to get the light are 1. Low oil pressure or bad sensor 2. Overtemp or bad temp sensor or bad knock sensor. I'd start with the oil pressure switch first. Its readily accessible and inexpensive Good Luck

I had similar issues with mine and it turned out to be the crankshaft position sensor. They have also had problems with throttle position sensors.

There are two...one for the gauge and one for the computer. It is the one for the computer that is bad. Go to the PCM engine site and there are parts manuals there. Find the system/exploded view and you'll have it.

it's the little black thing w/ a single wire coming off of it. on my ex330 it's on the port side of the boat near the floor. the pcm manual will show you exactly where it is on our boat.

to your credit i searched the 07 parts manual(08's aren't available), and the 08 manual on here and did not find it. this is what one from an older engine looks like.
