Absolutely the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. Massively gay.

Why in the world would you want to be able to do that....... If you're kids cannot leave the DVD player or the PS3 alone long enough to be out on the boat with the family, you got problems...

Good to see you back posting jward.

I recently had a conversation with a guy at hws about this. All companies are pricing themselves out of business from all bells and whisles. What if nautique took a 210, stripped it down to just a very basic nothing fancy boat and dropped the price to say 40k. Am I naive or would the sells be out the roof.

On the other side I could see video useful in the respect of training. I want me and family to go out and enjoy the outdoors.

Fancy is fun to show off but you have to think practical. Electronics in heat and wet usually don't do well.

There is always a lot of talk about this, but at the end of the day, I don't believe a stripped down low cost boat would sell well. CC has made a stripped down Ski Nautique several times, and the sales volume was low. My dealer tells me that when CC stripped down the 211, his 211 sales went to next to nothing. My observation is that people would rather buy a used boat with all the bells and whistles than a new one stripped down.

So long as the new electronics are made to the specs a marine environment sees (NEMA 4x or so), and requires, I don't see a problem with crazy displays and such being put in boats.

I however won't be buying one with all that stuff in it.

PP , EFI, and a stereo is all the more tech I need in a boat.

no doubt, ps3's and movie watching out on your boat is completely absurd ... better put those kids out on a board of some kind

For me I don't care how the gauges are run,

but I want everything separate. I want to have it so that if I want to look at the RPMs or the speed, I just look to one gauge and have the info I want. Having all the info on the same screen would seem confusing to me, but maybe I'm old fashioned. Switches, same thing. One switch, one function.

IMO, Correct Craft got it right when they went to the Faria Serial Bus gauges. Runs off CAN Bus, so very little wiring to do, and all the gauges are controlled by a box that's easy to replace if it goes bad.

Most boat and car companies source the hardware, firmware, and software development kits for the nextgen dashes from one of 3 companies. They then use the SDK's to customize the appearance and logos. But the functionality as it's designed in the controllers themselves is virtually the same across the board and includes video inputs and playback. So if it's already present in the controller as it comes from the OEM controller manufacturer, why not include it.

I have not problem with that ability to be included at all, but if I allow my kids choose to play PSP or watch movies while we are having family time/activity, I probably should sell the boat and allow them to join the rest of the "soon to be obese/already there due to inactivity" next generation.

I agree with the PS3 use on the boat being brutal. Its a boat made for sports, not an Escalade. However, it is fun to plug in the video camera so riders can watch their tricks and wipeouts while chilling out on the lake between sets. I think the Nautique Linc system would win over some of you detractors. You still have a separate analog gauge for RPM and Speedo, its not a touchscreen and there are separate switches for lights, bilge, blower etc. they are not part of the LINC screens. I debated getting a 2009 210 without the LINC system and I'm glad I chose the 2010.

If people want it hey, why not?
My problem with them is most are so hard to read in direct sunlight that they at times are useless. Video game in the boat? I'd pull the plug.
