What are everyone's thoughts on bunk versus wishbone trailers? I would think I wouldn't have to back as far into the water to reach launching depth with a wishbone, as I wouldn't be dealing with the height of the bunks. Also, does a wishbone distibute the weight of the boat more evenly, as there wouldn't be bunk mount pressure points? I'm thinking about a Ramlin for my next boat (wishbone), and am just looking for feedback. Thanks all...

I had a ram-lin under my '89, and an eagle four bunk under my '94....The eagle was a cadillac compared to the ram-lin. Towed better, was easier to load and unload (less power required to get the boat on and off at shallower ramps) and was overall better quality. I felt the 4 bunks distributed weight over more surface area, causing less wear and tear on my hull, as opposed to the wishbone with only two narrow rails.
JMO....but the new galvanized ramlins do look pretty swanky and solid though!

Search this site for wishbone. There are several conversations and thread jacks.
The craftsmanship of my ram-lin is very good....but next time I'll probably buy another brand instead or at least I'll shop them. I'm not all that happy with the one I have nor how ram-lim forces you to deal with them through a dealer.

I have had the bunk trailers for many years. DHM to be exact they are good trailers but I have found that the boat slid more from side to side on a this bunk trailer more then on a RAM-LIN which I began to purchase when I relocated to Florida. The RAM- LIN or wish bone or A frame tailer has been around for ever. I have found that it loads better the the bunks because it cradles the boat into the bow. You are less likley to go up over a fender with the RAM- LIN. AS far as towing I have found that the RAM- LIN tows as well as a tandum. I can not speak for eagle trailers I have never owned one and I don't know if eagle uses a 5 lug wheel on its single axle or a 6 lug . That will make the whole difference in towing with a single axle. RAM-LIN uses a six lug wheel and just an after thought RAM-LIN bought the jigs and started making trailers after Correct quit making trailers so you are really buying a CC trailer.
If you are going to put a new trailer under the 200 buy a RAM-LIN hands down. It is the easist loading and the boat does not move on that trailer. the trailer also has 4 set of bunks. It is a wish bone trailer with bunks on the frame as a nomal RAM- LIN trailer but it does have a bunking system also. Good luck with what ever you purchse. If you purchase a single axle trailer get the 6 lug wheel if it is an option. It will trailer better.
