Cain, even in your current garage it wouldn't be difficult to vault the ceiling and raise it a foot or two. I did this recently on a friends garage to fit his boat, tower up. We knocked the existing drywall down off the ceiling, installed new collar tie joists farther up the slope of the rafters, then knocked out the existing rafters that sat on the top plate of the walls. Afterwards, we drywalled the ceiling, and the sloped portion of the wall on the underside of the rafters. We went from an 8 foot ceiling to an 11 ft ceiling.Shane Hill

same problem
I have the same problem. We have an 08 SAN230. The tower is a struggle for my wife and I to raise and lower. My fall project is to raise the roof of our detached garage. Currently our door is 8' high and needs to go to 11'. Our project will be more involved because the roof is supported by trusses. Had a contractor early this summer, but think he got scared or realized he underbid the project. Looks like this fall will be interesting. Good luck with yours.

Finally done (almost)
My fall garage project is almost done. All that is left is install the garage doors on Wednesday and paint. If the weather holds, I'll paint on Saturday. With this done, I can't wait for next season. Getting the boat out will be so much easier. Now I won't need another person with me to take her out. My daughter and I can make lake runs during the week when everyone else has to work.
