Need a value

I have a 2008 SV 211 Team Edition. I have searched the internet to come up with a reasonable selling price after my dealer told my the market retail was in the low $30s for my boat.

My boat is loaded with less than 50 hours, has trailer upgraded stereo, and upgrade on the engine. It is in excellent condition, always covered in a shelter and has never seen salt water.

Am I missing something? That boat retailed for upper $70s in 2008 and now it is worth in the low to mid $30s retail. I think the dealer is smokin crack, but maybe I am? Any feedback would be appreciated

I just speced it on NADA and came up with a low retail of 43k and High of around 48. People on here usually say those values are low. I would search used ones and see how they are priced and put yours around those values. If you price too high you won't get any calls but you do have very low hours.

you are going to need to keep the boat until next spring. $39K tops right now. you might get into low 40s in the spring of next year. Financing will kill you selling a used boat. it is 3 model years old now. Hate to be the bearer of bad news. However if you keep it, you probably won't loose any more money for 3 more years.

i bought the same model with low 70's hours on it, but had to really work the guy down to 40.... originally he wanted 50, but needed to get rid of it to buy a large pleasure boat. I also had to drive 2000 miles round trip to get it. All in all, I feel i got a really good deal because it is mint. the owner kept it in climate controlled storage and had all the service records.

Well, if the dealer is offering low 30's and it can only be sold in the high 30's or 40k, seems fair to me. The dealer's got to make money somewhere.

Thanks guys. Just to be clear. The dealer was going to consign the boat for me. It wasn't going to be a trade for a new one and he wasn't going to resell it. If the values are in the 30s I can alway keep it.

nautiques o' orlando asking 40 for a 2006 right now. is in good shape but doesnt list the hours and are prolly not as low as yours. i would think that would be the absolute least you could take ...

Bad time to sell.

Getting towards the end of the season. People purchasing now are looking for deals.

Financing is non-existent for boats, and everything else, unless you have a cash buyer or someone with large equity and a friendly bank. To be clear, financing IS available just not at the same levels it was a few years ago meaning your potential buyers are fewer.

Unless you are in a hurry I would hold on until spring when there are more buyers and who knows, a miracle might happen and the economy might improve.

It is not that the boat is not worth more, it is the difficulty of getting stuff sold at the end of the season. My suggestion is that you use the heck out of the boat and put 100 more hours on it and then sell next spring. You will enjoy it and then get the same $$$ next year as you would this year.

If it helps your feelings, I have looked at a Airstream travel trailer that is 4 years old in perfect condition, bought new for $90K and now after being reduced to $52K and I expect will sell 35-45K.

If people will spend in the $50's for something, I think they are likely to buy new.
