Has anyone put a bench seat in a SAN (Pre 2005)?

Has anyone tried to put a bench seat (like those in the 220 or 230) in a pre-2005 210SAN? I am always looking for new ideas, so thought that may be a fun one for the crew to face the wake. I am not sure of the measurements, or even how they work but would be open to any ideas. I know there is the lounge seat available, but I am looking for something which would span across the middle of the boat.

i think it would be cool to build a bench that goes from the port side cooler all the way over to the starboard. it wouldn't be too hard. i'd say a fibgerglass base would be best for being light on weight.

That is what I am thinking. Trying to figure out where to find a fiberglass/gel coated base to build up from

The ottoman seat from www.everythingpontoon.com may work. Just need to get some stainless steel tubing to fashion a back brace and fabricate an upholstered lean back portion for it to be a true seat. The dimensions are 31x18x18, with a sealed base used for extra storage or cooler.

make your own base. mock it up in wood and then make your base with glass. i think it would be cool to hinge the seat back so you can fold it down to walk over, but that might be the 2.0 version.

On ebay there are some pretty cool ideas as far as folding seats. I may buy the seat itself that folds down and reupholster it to match my upholstery. I will likely end up building the fiberglass base myself which will be water tight to hold towels food etc

the storage idea is great. i have no room in my boat at all if i fill sacs. def. keep the mold. if you have the time once you get it dialed it might be something you could sell to folks. pretty much everyone wants more seats facing the wake.

I will probably be buying the materials soon, but I am not sure that I will be getting to it before winter. But I will def keep all informed. I really want to make the base as watertight storage. I have looked at some prefab doors (fiberglass and starbright), I am just worried about weight issues, but if you have read how much weight I use while surfing, it shouldnt be a major concern
