    CC got it right:
--Reversible seating (on this reason alone, I can't consider another brand)

This is ALL SUBJECTIVE. I 100% disagree with this one. I have a fat sac right where that reversible seat goes and besides that, climbing up and over that seat every time a new rider is ready to go seems ridiculous.

    But, I like the idea of this thread so I will give my 2 cents;

    Right:
    - CC- keyless ignition
    - Bu- interior layout
    - Bu- storage EVERYWHERE
    - MC- Xstar wake

    Wrong:
    - CC new (latest 2011) FCT
    - CC reversible seating
    - CC new fuse box location on 210 (in the rear trunk...are you jkidding me! That space is reserved for FAT SACS))
    - MC seat construction between vertical back rest and bottom cushions
    - MC- vinyl wrap on dashboard

i'm sure it is a pain to build your own trailers when you have so many different models of boats. i hated my MC trailer. the oil bath hubs blew out a handful of times on short, low speed trips, the fiberglass fenders broke easily, and the bow buddy never worked right consistently. it did tow nicely for a single axle though. as for getting old and loud music...it has always confused me that old people(no offense, i'll be there one day soon) can't handle loud music anymore when in fact you lose the ability to hear certain frequencies over time. therefore, wouldn't you want it louder?

My 93 MC trailer was reliable as could be (except for the OEM brake lines). It's the newer ones (99 and newer) that have tended to be a bit more trouble prone.

If it is a style of music I do not like, it will always be too loud. Especially if it is a style of music without a chord structure.

let me try to clarify the object/subjective thing since i have obviously failed, hahaha. i mean objective in the sense that it is an option that somebody or technique that somebody else offers. like stadium seating: CC offers it. multiple gel coat configurations: MC and Bu offer them.

i blame it on myself of r making it subjective when i took the objective things above and assigned a hit or miss to them. i suck hahaha. the point was too find out what is really important to the enthusiast. i think everyone of us truly believes that we could design a better boat (from a feature, not a construction standpoint) than any of the current builders, and to do that , we would probably pull the strengths from each builder and use creative license to apply it to our vision...

i do have to chuckle at the "got it right: Bu interior layout." couldnt you just have easily plugged MC, Tige, Centurion, Calabria, MB, Sanger, Moomba, or Supra in there? they all have your standard interior layouts...

I liked all of our MC trailers, especially with the Boat Buddy. Everyone worked great, everytime. As for their price, whew!!

I did not like all the black marks the boat buddy left on the hull. Someone could probably make a few bucks if he made a non maring version of the boat buddy shroud. Their patent has expired and, last I checked, they have no plans to manufacture such an upgrade.

A Boat Buddy style system on a trailer with crush pads would be the cats meow. I think one could make the impact into the Buddy less harsh that way.

Interesting MC innovation: The rudder is slightly offset with the driveshaft for easier replacement. The rudder doesn't need to be removed to slide it out.

why not just add two off set rudders and have yourself a "vector" system like on epics. another company that got it WAY wrong on the stereo setup.

what are peoples opinions on "cab forward" design? another way to ask the question would be how important is bow seating space? i owned a 2002 Calabria Pro V. At 21.5' long it had a main cabin that was more spacious than anything under 24'. The 220 has a cab forward design also, which makes the main cabin feel longer than my 230.

For me, bow space is almost a waste...everyone wants to sit in the back, in the stadium seating to observe the action. my bow gets used exclusively as a walk through...

I love the cab forward design. I wish the 200 CB would've incorporated it.

CC got it wrong: all of their ballast systems before 2007

All got it wrong: a wrap of any design on the hull of a boat

CC got it right: the hydrogate, it's just the most misunderstood option, it just sharpens or softens the wake corners period. Not even sure if that is what they intended but that's what mine does.

MC got it wrong: the X-10 hull, it porpoises with any load at any speed over 30mph

All got it wrong: stopping production of Ford marine motors (not really a boat mfg. issue, Ford issue)

MC got it wrong: way too much $$$ into machined hardware on the boat (many others besides MC too)

got it wrong: nobody making a high torque 400+ cubic inch small block powerplant or lack of an option for a supercharger or other power adder for barefooters needing 45mph

Malibu now offers an Indmar LS3 Corvette engine (appx. 440 HP/430 Ft. Lbs.) and the LS7 Corvette engine (505HP/485 Ft. Lbs.). Not a Malibu lover but they do offer it. I am sure the price is massive, especially on the LS7.
