Engine Hours - Perfect Pass vs Tachometer readout

2002 Ski Nautique with digital Teleflex gauge reads higher hours compared to the ones logged by PerfectPass ver 6.4.

The "all off" toggle is set to off every time we finish. Keyless ignition and never leave the boat on.

The tach hours gradually climb since 2007 when PPass was installed. Tach shows 30 more hrs over 3 years.

Anyone have an idea on which one is correct and why the disparity? Is PPass generally accurate?

The teleflex digital gauge readout comes and goes but I can get a clear reading once in a while.

I am just impressed that your Teleflex gauges still work. Mine did til the middle of summer and have now completely crapped out on me. I think the tach would be the right one since it gets its reading directly from the computer control module (I think that is what it is called). Not sure how perfect pass calculates theirs but since I have replaced mine (upgrade to Stargazer) so not even that is close to accurate. I am not sure if you replace with the analog gauges if the hour meter will go back to being accurate

Which engine is in your boat? In 2002, you could have had a Ford or a GM engine. If it is a GM, the engine computer also stores the hours, and that can be checked for a completely accurate number. If you have a Ford engine, this will not work.
