I think that I would do at least a little research in advance to safely participate in a fairly risky sport with respect to your physical well-being. Even moreso, your wife's. Not to mention spending a pretty large amount of money to play along.

I think the humorous comments are due to not hearing something like this on a forum very often. It's the internet, take it in stride and ask a lot of questions. There are some really good riders here that can help you sort it out so you can have fun, not deep bruising or worse.

Secondly, I posted my experience so someone that hasn't been around boats or wakeboarding might not make the same mistake that I did. I appreciate some of replys I got but a few of you need to grow up.
I wouldn't worry too much about the comments, my wife is not a great skiier and if I pulled her at tournament speed, or even close to it for that matter, she would think it's out of control. Similar situation as yours, but in the opposite direction. Point is, if you did not know any different you just don't know it's wrong.

I'm more impressed with the desire to keep at thinking it was right the right speed even though it had to be scary as all get out. If I had that kind of ba!!s I'd be a whole lot better boarder than I am. Good thing is now once you slow it down to an acceptable level things should be a whole lot easier and more confortable for you guys. Re-post your experience once you get a chance to get out at a slower speed.
