    2001 SAN Water Strainer

I just got a 2001 SAN with the GT40 engine. The previous owner had the water strainer taken out and I want to put one back in. Does anyone have a photo of where the strainer goes when I hook it back up? Thanks

I don't know if it's the same as mine, but I think you can see mine in my ballast photo album.

My strainer on my 01 SAN is not in the same place at WakeFun's. The attached pic is not very good but you can see the strainer mounting bracket directly to the right of where the ski pylon was (it is taken out in this pic).

Why would someone take out the water strainer? seems like you are just opening yourself up for trouble.

Thanks for the pictures, hopefully I will get the parts this weekend so I can put it on. The previous owner had a crack in the bowl and instead of replacing it they took it out. Do you know what size hose is hooked up to it? I think it is 1" if I need to get more hose.

I removed the one from my 1995 Ski after I burned up 2 impellers on one day. Just could not get it to seal and didn't want to burn up the 3rd and last impeller on the first day of my houseboat weekend. After removing it, it dawned on me that in the 3 previous years it had collected zero debris from my boating areas so I just left it out.

My current boat does have the strainer, it's never been cleaned in 5 years and 500 hours of use and it's still clean inside. I have no intention of cracking the seal on this one.
