The boat he's looking at has a z5 and a blinged out trailer. That adds 4k to the price.

If it's worth an extra 4k to him then he should go for it and buy it.
I don't get wasting 4K extra for a blinged out trailer that sits in a garage or sits in a parking lot while your on the water. Does that mean this trailer cost like 8-10K new?
It's a buyers market right now. I wouldn't care how much a person paid for a boat, I would pay market value or pay what others are selling for, there are a ton of used boats out there.
Obviously people that are spending 80K on toys, an extra 4k is nothing and they can afford it. So if it's the boat, trailer, color, stereo and everything the original poster has dreamed of owning, then buy it. Post some pics of it also, we want to see this bad *** trailer and everything.
I'll tell you that I've had many different trailers. Currently, I've got a boatmate with the wide fenders, 5 18 KMC rockstars on it, and heavy duty axles. The trailer also has LED runway lights on it and LED everything else. I trailer my boat everywhere so I use a trailer a ton. I dinged up on of the cross members early this summer and sent my trailer back to boatmate to have some paint and stuff touched up. I borrowed a "Prestige" brand tandem 230 trailer for a few weeks from a friend. During that time, I towed my boat on several different trips. The borrowed trailer had typical 15'' wheels and trailer tires on it, and standard lights. First and foremost, the borrowed trailer towed like crap. It swayed back and forth like crazy at 75mpg behind my Dodge 2500. It bounced bad with every bump I hit. The reverse lights were not bright at all.
I pay more for a nicer trailer because it makes a noticable difference to me in towing. Yes, I also think the boat looks much better on a nicer trailer when it's not in the water too, and that makes me happy. To each their own. I've personally gotten every penny out of the nicer trailers I've ordered when selling my boats.

Oh, and the cost on a z5 is like $3k, so when you add that to a blinged out trailer, an extra $4k for that boat - over another boat with no z5 and a standard trailer - is not unreasonable.

Just to give a heads up, for 2010 models the z5 rack had an msrp of $3175. It's not cool how much over the dealers are charging you guys for this, UNLESS CC had a price increase (which wouldn't shock anyone).
