Iam looking at buying a newer Nautique and wanted to know is there a big difference between the v-drive and direct drive? I have looked at a couple that are 2001 and a 2003, one is a limited v-drive and the other is a DD. Both boats look the same. I have a 83 SN 2001 and wanting to upgrade for wakeboarding and also more room. Thanks

Then you definitely want a V-driveEric, Phoenix AZ

The super airs are V-drives and the airs are direct drives. As far as what to look for, go python or PCM engine. Beware of the python for sale in MO, apparently it sunk a while ago. the 2002 year models have digital gauges that go out. Not a big deal, just replace them with the analog replacements, or ignore and use perfect pass. I bought a 2002 super sport (no tower or ballast) for cheaper and added everything I wanted exactly the way I wanted. Probably costs the same in the long run but I was able to design to my needs.Eric, Phoenix AZ

well that engine is 350 cu. in., 330 hp. what's your budget? i might know of an 05 210 team going up for sale sometime this winter. i know b/c it's mine. i've gone off and on with selling it. it might be time to buy a house though and it would make a great down payment so i might have to let her go even though my heart fights me on it.

The limited has a lower value, due to not being a team edition, thus the resale value down the road will prob. be less. My experience is that the basic colors sell more easily. While a 'hot' color might be cool for a year or two, it may go out of style, then you are left trying sell a boat that few people would like. Carefully inspect any boat used in salt or brackish water - although I have seen brackish water boats kept in better shape than some freshwater boats.
