    Skinny 206

The walk through windshield on my 2003 206 will not close completely. It is almost 1/4 " overlapped at the bottom with the adjacent windshield. Is it possible to have the boat flex inward overtime? Not sure I can adjust anything to get the window to close?

    Thanks for any insights.

How do you store the boat? Does it hang in straps on a boat lift? This has been know to warp hulls.

It sat on the trailer all summer, I have had it on a lift for the last 3 wks. If the hull is warped is there any solution?

The 206 was introduced in 2003, and at that time a lot of Correct Craft boats were shipped to the local dealer without the windshield, or tower on the boat, to make it easier to get more boats on a trailer behind a semi truck.

The windshields are held to the boat by tapping screws that went down through the windshield frame, in to the fiberglass on the deck.

The boat do flex a little, and you have to take into account how the windshield fits when the boat is floating, and when it is on the trailer. If the trailer does not fit the boat very well, that might be your problem. The same situation might exist if the boat lift does not fit the boat correctly.

If the windshield gap is OK, with the boat floating, and on the trailer, you might have a problem with the lift.

The two screws closest to the walk through establish the gap at the bottom of the windshield. You can adjust the gap at the top of the walk through by adjusting how the struts support the top of the windshield. If you have to adjust the gap, you can make some minor adjustments with the screws going into the original holes, but if you have to adjust it a lot, you could be looking at having to drill new holes in the bottom of the windshield frame, and the deck of the boat.

            Thanks DanielC and gride,

I'll take a closer look today.
The boat is new to me. In the showroom the window was closed, had to give it a little encouragement to open it and then it would not close. Forgot to look at it again when the boat was in the water for a test drive... It definitely has not gotten any better sitting on my lift, and after a day on the water it still would not close.

Is there a cross deck/gunnel measurement I could use to confirm I don't have a bigger problem.

I assumed the bunks on the trailer were set up best for the boat and adjusted my lift to match the trailer. I didn't do a search yet, has the topic of bunk positions been discussed?

            thanks,

The window on our 206 will get tighter after sitting on the trailer (Eagle) for an extended period of time and then settle back to where it belongs after being on the water or lift. May want to check the bunks on your lift to see if they are under the stringers and not too wide.
