    Lesson to share

I now know how vital it is to keep a sharp knife and mask on board. Was riding with friends yesterday on their 23 LSV and a tow rope fouled the prop. Good experience to learn from; probably avoidable but stuff happens.

I have never needed a knife before. Hopefully I never will either. Bummer it happened to your riding day.

My pal had both which taught me the lesson. 15 minutes' down time, but we weren't in a good spot to be without the engine...

That happened to some wakeboarders on Norris in TN. They stopped me and asked if I had a knife, which I did.
One of them asked me why I had a knife on board, to which I replied "Why do YOU need a knife?".

I carry in the boat amoung other tools a BlackHawk Mark1 folding knife. This is a knife designed for the military and rescue work. Check it out! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZTzw9o3m71A

Used it just last week as we picked up someones ski rope they decided to discard in the lake.
