Wanted - PICS of your stereo install - 1990 SN

Does anyone have pictures of how they installed the head unit in their 1990 SN?

I think it is supposed to go in the glove box - does anyone have pictures of this installation? or - an alternate installation point?

or - any comments in general?

I am considering an - under-dash installation with remote

    thanks!!!

          thanks for the pic seen-nc

my glove box is already broken - i'm debating replacing it (for about $170 - sheesh) or possibly mounting under the dash... I'm on an IDEA search!

          thanks again.

          guys - keep them coming!

Well, don't mount it in the glove box, whatever you do. Mine is mounted there and it is a real pain to adjust the volume or anything else when you're driving. It's rendered practically useless there. I'd figure out a way to put it under the dash by the driver. Overton's has a waterproof stereo enclosure (looks like a plastic box with a clear lid on the front) that you can hang under your dash. Mount that box where you want it and the stereo will fit right in. That was my plan before I got an Ipod....

              Hey, M3Fan.........

Don't mean to hijack this thread, but I gotta ask:

Couldn't help but notice your FlyHigh pylon is fastened to your bow lifting ring. I have a '94 SN that has a nice crack running through the gelcoat from the bow ring to the windsheid. My dealer said it was because the previous owener fastened his pole there.

Have you had any such problems?

No, but I've switched to the bow strap for the past year. The prev owner always had it clipped to the lifting ring but even he suggested moving it when I bought it. It could easily cause cracking like you describe, but I don't have any after years of clipping to the ring.

M3Fan is right! I had a 93 SN with the head unit in the glove box. It was a constant source of frustration. Even if your not driving it takes a gymnastics move for the observer to open the glove box and make adjustments. If you are driving, forgetaboutit. It always seemed like you had to have the button pushed exactly right and lift only at the correct angle or it wouldnt open. It did stay dry tho.
I would relocate to more desirable location.

The original radios from the factory were installed on the top of the dash near the mirror.
