I use Shadow casters with a custom made bar that mounts to the platform brackets, an idea which I copied somewhat from Grant West on the wakeboarder.com forum. I love these lights (they are pricey) but light up perfect for our surf sessions. And they are cool at night when hanging out in the water. Draw very little amperage. Send me your email and I will shoot you a few pics.

Yep, big thanks to him and it helped me out quite a bit. I angled mine a bit different to try and light up the wake more. Not sure if it made a huge difference, but Im only using two lights not three. Thanks again Grant!

OceanLED are excellent, I have their Amphibians on my boat, not seen any of the others in action though.

EDIT - ok maybe according to that review they aren't but I like mine.

Since Grant and I did the review there have been a few new players and a few new products from the existing players. I originally went with a single high power unit from Krypt but I changed mine out to a single shadow caster last summer. The problem with the single high power unit was the beam was too narrow so when we had a few folks swimming only one would be in the light. The single shadow caster is better but I would get 2 if I were doing it again. Unfortunately I thought it would be clever to mount it opposite my single exhaust. Obviously this limits me to a single light. I like the light brackets mount to the platform brackets. This is much more palatable for most boat owners versus drilling under water holes in the boat. Personally I don't have any problem taking out the drill and letting the fiberglass fly but some find it bothersome to drill holes in a perfectly good boat.

coastalnightlights.com handsdown the cheapest and best output.... i have done tests against the shadow caster and for the cost and performance the coastal night lights are a truer blue and have just as much out put. and all for 190 bucks vs 599! I am doing 3 of the dl blues on my sante. i was skeptical but all my customers love them and after testing both i will do the coastals. check em out! tell chris that AVC Marine sent ya.
