    boat lift canopy question?

Last spring I purchased a 2004 SV-211 and last fall I had a flight control tower installed. The question I have is how much higher do I need to raise my canopy so I don't have to keep laying the tower down everytime I come in. I was thinking raising another 4' but that is just a wild guess. Thanks!

Wouldnt the water level of the lake impact this question?

You are right the water level does make a difference and on our lake it fluctuates generally around 4' to 6'5" deep where my lift sits depending on the amount of rain we get. I don't have any problem keeping the boat out of the water with the way it was without the tower.

Type of lift, length of side curtains, feet height settings, depth of water, etc. etc. will all make a difference.

The higher the canopy the less protection it will provide from the elements. I set my Shorestation so with tower up I can get the entire hull, prop and rudder just out of the water so with tower down I can crank the boat up pretty tight to the underside of the canopy. This year I had to raise my canopy midway through the season because of high water.

If you already have your depth set correctly and depending on your canopy, I would imagine raising it 12 to 18 inches should get it close to where it needs to be. Adjusting the canopy further on the water as/if necessary should not be too difficult.

Thanks Quinner, I will probably start with raising it 14" like you said and go from there.
