I was thinking about Diesel for a little while when I first heard about this announcement, but that's probably not going to be it. Diesel wouldn't be a bad option for me. I already use a diesel Excursion, so filling the boat and the truck together would be easy (except for the fuel cost). I hear the performance was not up to their standards though with the diesel, so that's not the announcement this time.

Maybe they've finally figured out that a **** boat shouldn't cost as much as your home...
Give me a '01 - '04 SAN for 20-40k and I'll show you the best wakeboard boat out there for everyone. People follow these pro's who get them for free or pay to ride behind them. If they had to buy them I could promise you they probably wouldn't.
There is honestly no reason to pay 80-100k for one of these boats; they are simply NOT worth it. Watch AXIS take off, you can get a great boat that does what it’s supposed to do for 40K. It’s a WAKEBOARD BOAT, not a house boat or cruiser.
And to be honest, I'll never buy another new SANTE. The price tag for 'boat show sale' in GA on the 210 I saw was 90k+.... F...U... I can bust the same tricks out behind a 40K boat just as easy as I can behind a 100k boat. Ya, it is a new boat and looks good but the point is, it’s a boat, and that’s my point. I can take a dingy out and drink beer and have a good time and I can ride behind my friends '01 SAN, which he paid 22k for, and kill it just as well. I walked out the door with our '08 SANTE, with trailer, for 62K in June of 2008 because of who I knew at the time. It was most beneficial to pay an extra 20k for a 4 year newer boat at the time. In hind sight, maybe it wasn't? There is no difference in the performance or wake from an '08 to a '11 model 210 to justify 40k worth of extra cost.
I'm with Chattwake, throw down 40 g's and shred behind a good boat with a great wake. Take all those push buttons computers, griffin's, crest carpet and BS and toss them to the side... Let's shred, drink beer and have a great time.

My friend Shawn picked up a 2008 SANTE 210, new, this past summer for 51k out the door. He loves that boat. I love that boat. He went and looked at a leftover 2010 SANTE 210 at the end of the season before the dealer closed its doors. He was offered the "hook up" price on that boat for 64k. He couldn't justify it.
I also wish CC would produce an "entry level" wakeboat that produces a killer wake, with less frills/bling, in the 50-60k price range again. ****, just bring back the old 210 with the same options that were on it in '06!2012 Axis A22 - on order

You guys could do all of your same tricks behind my old azz 95', and my boat is worth maybe 18-19K
Nobody NEEDS a new boat..........it's a WANT. I'm with you guys, 75-100K for a boat to wakeboard behind is insane!

In my industry, shoes and apparel, labor and material costs world-wide have increased substantially in the past few years, and we take a lot of heat for our prices be "out-of-control". I don't know much about boat manufacturing, but a builder on B.O.S had mentioned that the price of resin has tripled in the last few years. I'm sure new manufacturing facilities, etc. have lead to higher boat prices, but I'd imagine raw material costs aren't getting any cheaper either? I certainly wish CC could build a tow boat for the mid $30's, but I'm not sure it's possible for them. Heck, a 2012 SN 196 would have to cost more than an '09, simply due to the rise in material/labor costs. They do use top-notch materials, which can easily be seen when comparing older CC's to the likes of Moomba, Centurion, etc. To build an entry level boat, they may have to skimp on the highest quality of materials, which isn't the CC mission.
I'm thinking the announcement will some kind of new motor, with greater fuel efficiency. It would be an odd time to introduce a new model. Since the 2011 boat shows are going on as we speak, the timing would be a little late.'08 196LE (previous)
