Little help on price of used 211

I have been in the boat and it is immaculate. It is a limited edition, not a team edition - no keypad, etc.

I have an idea about what I'd like to pay for it, but I want to see what everyone else says first.

I have an '05 210 SANTE so I'm very familiar with Nautique - this boat is for my parents. I bought my boat from the same dealer that originally sold this boat and has done all the service.

Hate to tell you, but that is NOT a Limited. That's a STANDARD (base model).

what gives the LE / SE away? The key? If it is an SE it has upgrades (330 engine, tanks, perfectpass)

where is the ski pylon? I thought these were unchanged since the introduction? Nice cupholders in the walkthru step.

Wonder what the reserve is? I don't have tanks (more storage ), half the hours, smaller engine, 3 years newer and I wouldn't dream of parting for less than $40K.

Yes, the key. Limited and Teams had keyless.

Very similar to my boat, loaded up SE edition, less hours but older. I would put the value of my boat at about $34k without consideration to the significant audio and lighting additions I have made to the boat. A steal would be anything south of $30k, anything above my number starts to get into used boat at a dealer pricing.

That is exactly what i was thinking. My Dad offered him $30k and he wouldn't take it. I really feel that's about what it is worth...maybe a little more. NADA has it right at $30.5k.

The boat is only about 50 miles from my parent's lake house, so it's definitely worth something to be able to buy it locally. We also know the dealer that originally sold it and has done all the work on it very well.

It is pretty much exactly what they want. They prefer the Standard edition (don't need or want all the fancy stereo, etc. and definitely don't want to pay for it). Just want a good condition 211 with perfect pass and ballast (in a reasonable color).

I think they are getting close on price. However, I just noticed by looking more closely at the pictures that the boat does not have a ski pylon. Where are you supposed to hook the rope for skier? Can a pylon be added?

It looks like there is a cap over the hole where the ski pylon goes - maybe the owner has the pylon or I'm sure you could get one and bolt it in.

the cap that you are referring to looks offset.

Also, NADA isn't a good starting point for pricing. You might get one this day and time due to PBO's economy, but in the past that was always a lot lower than they were going for.

My recommendation is talk to your dealer. They should be able to give you a good price to shoot for, especially since they know the boat.

pylon

I am on my first nautique, so no long history, but the structure around the pylon is substantial, seems like that would be a pretty big project to put all of the support in. Certainly possible but it would take some work.

I bid on this boat the first time he listed it on ebay. It did not meet the reserve but he sent me a second chance offer for $33,500. I bought a black 04 sv 211 te Friday with 130 hours on it for over 5k less.

Adding the pylon is not trivial, but it is doable. There is a structure that bolts to the aluminum rails holding the motor. It is aluminum angle erector set that provides the structure. My friend Henry's 2004 211 didn't have a pylon, he measured up the mounting system from my boat and considered adding the pylon. Actually he was going to add a Malibu retractable pylon but needed the subframe. As far as I know he never added it due to the complexity of the installation. I would not be surprised if a dealer would want $1k to add it?
