Buying a New Boat - Help !

Nope. CC is pretty cool. They authorized Tommy's to do any warranty work. Now that the CC warranty is up (one year parts and labor for a 2003 promo boat) I'll take it to Ram Boats here in Denver. PCM will honor their work for the motor work which still has one year left on the warranty.

Still keeping my fingers crossed that CC gets a dealership here soon. Jeez.

I recently just went through the same process you did and looked at basically all three manufacturers. Bottom line I bought an '04 SV-211TE. I did get to test drive all three brands and really didn't care for the Malibu because it didn't feel substantial in the water. Not sure if it was the way it was manufactured, but it seemed sort of cheap. The glove box kept popping open too. Very annoying for the 15 minutes I was on the boat. The MC quality seemd to be higher but I didn't like the layout of the seating and felt the design wasn't quite as well thought out as the CCs. Overall the engines all seemed good to me. The CC was the best overall for me and the dealer was very knowledgeable. I'm quite psyched. That's my laymans opinion. Good luck.

I wish I could post photos of a 2002 LXI thats our club boat. The interior and gelcoat is not holding up very well.

I think I need to take partial responsibility for that. :shock:

since you are buying new....here are some points to consider.

the 3 year motor warranty is NOT the same on both boats. read the fine print- the bu dealers dont like to bring this up unless till you are committed and they try to sell you a extended warranty on the engine

the nautique engine warranty will pretty much cover everything (injectors,throttle body, altenator, small stuff etc...) and large (block, piston,cam)...both internal and external of the engine

the malibu warranty will cover 1 year on small parts(injectors,throttle body, altenator-external of the engine) and 3 year on block/driveline (internal of the engine).

the dealer
the reputation and quality of the dealer you buy it from plays a big factor and can make or break the experience no matter what boat you go with.

Hello All

I am just returning from the Montreal Boat Show where I have purchased a beautiful Correct Craft A206.

I wanted to thank you all for your much helpful comments. It really helped me to take this important decision. I went to the show and first looked at the Malibu LXI followed by the Master Craft X7 and finished with the CC.

The bling on the Malibu and Mastercraft actually did not really do it for me. I thought that the CC looked a lot more classy (especially the dash area) and high quality. I am sure that this boat will pass the test of time a lot better than the others.

Delivery is in 2 weeks and I can't wait.

Proud to enter the CC family.
