New 210.. FCT 1 Tower Question

Ok, I just picked up my new boat last weekend and I'm super pumped. I've wanted a nautique for a LOONNNGGG time! It's a 2008 210 TE but it only has 2.5 hours it. It was a dealer show boat for the last 2.5 years. Anyways, I took it out on Sunday and I have one question.

The boat has the FCT 1 Gen 3 tower and it rattles more than I expected it to. The dealer had it powder coated and I'm wondering if when they reinstalled the tower if they forgot to install rubber dampeners where the tower connects together? Does the tower even have dampeners?

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!

I see you're in Dallas, so I assume you bought the boat from Phil, just take it back to him and he'll make it right with out asking any questions. It should not rattle at all to the point where you're hearing it. Of course there are thsoe days where it's so rough everything is rattling, as long as you're talking on fairly calm water there should not be any noise.

One of the best parts of owning a Nautique and living in Dallas, getting to have a dealer like Buxton right here, take advantage of it. In today's economy there are a lot of people on here wishing they had any dealer within 200 mikes of them, much less in their same city.

I agree, I have had three new towers, there is noting on them to to make any noise I am sure your dealer forgot to put something back on after powder coating or did not tighten the fittings .

Thanks for the feedback guys. I actually bought the boat from West Lake Marine in New Orleans (very nice team btw). I went to Phil first but he didn't have what I was looking for in stock. Nonetheless, Phil / Buxton was one of the main reason I bought a Nautique. Buxton is a top notch dealer for sure. Even thought the boat is an 08, it still has a new 5 yr warranty. Consequently, I'll be relying on Phil and his team for all warranty service, maintenance, etc. I'm going to the boat show this weekend and will get Phil's feedback.

        Thanks again!

Check the bushings at the hinge. Likely they were not replaced or installed correctly. My 2005 tower is silent even with about 50-75lbs of equipment bolted to it.
