Throttle By Wire

I'm sure there is a post on this subject, but I can't find it. Interesting I don't know the answer to this questions, but what year did CC go to throttle by wire. I think it is 2007. I'm looking to replace my 216 with a 196 (02-09 Hull), but I want to option for ZO if I decide I don't like PP. I found a 06 i like.

The guys at Perfect Pass told me CC went to DBW in '06.

The reason I asked them was because when I bought my '05 210 last year I was looking to upgrade to Stargazer. I was confused because it says "Digital Throttle Control" on the valve cover. I thought that meant DBW but upon removing the valve cover I see its mechanical linkage. I'm still confused about that one...

Yes, 2006. My '06 196 was DBW. You can't simply plug and play ZO into an '06 or '07, but the ECM can be flashed to make it work. From what I'm told it costs about $100 to flash it.

OK so 06 might be the cut off. I seem to remeber I could plug and play on my 07 with ZO. I checked the ZO website and they have product starting in 07.

Would PCM flash the ECM. I haven't reached out to them yet.

I was trying to pull a deal together on a 200, but the 3k+ in metal flake was messing up the numbers. Plus I really don't care for metal flake. So not liking the boat + the cost being more then I wanted to spend, made me just start to go in this different direction.

2006 was the first drive by wire system. It used the MEFI controller and Zero Off will not work with this system. In 2007 PCM changed to the GCP controller. It requires updating to function with Zero Off. 2008 engines will work with Zero Off without modification

PCM flashed my '07 for ZO. I have heard that one needs to replace the ECM on an '06, which scuff mentioned too.

Its throttle by wire....the driving part is still by cable.

I was one of the people who originally tested ZO. That was back in 2007 in my 236. The ECU had to be REPLACED. I was sent a new one, and once I installed it, I was able to run ZO and PP side by side, and both worked. It was a crazy setup, but it was cool to have both.

Converting an 02 and newer gm engine'd Nautique to ZO is supereasy. So if you can get a deal on a nice 02-06, I wouldn't turn it down.

You'll need an eControls ECM. Not sure that you can have them flashed.
